I can't get rid of Porn

Discussion in 'Porn Addiction' started by Deleted Account, Jan 26, 2021.

  1. I have been trying my best from many years to quit PMO, I had a long streak last year, but after I failed in October 10th after that I am having very hard time cutting porn from my life. I am lonely as fuck, I live with my mother, I have very few friends and for some reasons I do not hang out with them much.
I am pretty scared now that if I can never leave watching porn. I am having urges every 4/5 days and I am falling for it. My mind is not resisting it and I am feeling shit load of guilt right after PMO. I am missing my sober days very much and I am sad af. Ok feel dizzy after PMO, I feel no energy. I have stopped working out from last October. I am pathetic piece of shit now. All I want is something that I can rely on to get outta this habit. I have to stay home cause I have graduated last year and studying for Govt services, because am always home and alone I am getting so so frustrated sometimes that I end up watching porn. I am sick of myself I am disgusted by my action. I am out of control. I am full of negativity right now. I don't understand what can I do to not open up my browser's incognito mode again.

You need to take control of your mind and get a kick up the backside man. I know what it's like being caught in the porn cycle where you can't ever seem to stop, but it's up to you nothing can make you PMO. When you said you need something to rely on to get you out of PMO, it doesn't work like that, you have to do it yourself. External factors might help give you motivation but ultimately it's down to you. But you can do this! Start with a daily routine of healthy habits and find a productive hobby. Good luck my friend

This was me 32-33 days earlier. The same endless cycle of stress-then-porn-then-regret-then-more_stress-then-porn. Then one day I thought "Either I keep crying about this or I end this f**king cycle". So what did I do?
Phase-1: I analyzed my whole day, When I was PMOing (usually after study session at night), From where I was PMOing (From my phone before going to bed), Where am I getting the triggers (Sites like 9gag, Insta which I used to surf before sleeping and end up PMOing)
Phase-2: Rescheduled my whole day. I stopped studying at night! (I've been a night owl my whole life). Thus I wasn't surfing 9gag/Insta hence getting any triggers.
Phase-3: But you know the brain, he still needs that good dose of dopamine, so after 4-5 days of Nofap, the urges started haunting in the daytime too but I didn't want to enter that 'loop'. So I restricted my phone/laptop usage, I installed Cold turkey blocker on the laptop and family link app on the phone (now I can use my phone from 9 AM to 4:30 PM). These two really helped me in my battle with my brain.
Phase-4: 32 days later, I finally tamed the beast inside my head and now I've started using it. I can feel it is working subconsciously (on the problems/topics I've been studying whole) instead of showing me some explicit images. I won't even want to use social media, my focus and self-esteem have improved quite a lot.
I think I can make it this time!

So now you know what to do when to do it. I can't tell you how to do it but I can assure you if you do it, after 30-40 days you will not be the same person as you are right now.

  8. Relax fam. Good things take time. Recognize that porn is not something good to indulge in. Honestly, for a start, try countering it with a different addiction. Try being productive for your first days. That's usually what helps me at first to deal with chaser effect. Negativity kills you and kills those around you. Leave it behind and start moving forward. Good luck, shiv.

One thing that's been helping me lately has been quitting social media. Facebook, instagram, Youtube, snap. My latest one I've been trying to quit is youtube. I definitely have been using those for trying to make myself feel less lonely. But at the end of a video or the end of an instagram scroll I just realize how much more lonely I am at the end. And quitting those has been making me try harder to spend time with others. I'm more likely to take people up on invitations to spend time together. I don't know if that might help. You might feel more lonely at first because all of a sudden the easy ways to numb out and forget you're lonely are gone but eventually you might find more friends to spend time with. Just try to find other healthy friends, I've watched lots of people including myself get ruined by having bad/toxic friends.

You need to make up your mind once and for all! When I read what you wrote, I think you are pretty close to it.
Write a detailed structured plan on how to tackle the entire situation and make yourself clear that if you keep on PMOing, you'll end up as a pathetic piece of shit for sure. In that aspect you have to be hard on yourself and you can't have mercy. Hammer into your head that failure is not an option.
Don't go into the "at least I try it, I relapse every 2 weeks but I'll never give up" mode, like many do. That is a betrayal on yourself.
Be kind to yourself in other areas of your life, but not when it comes to porn.
Porn = Pathetic piece of shit.

  12. I have turned off all my social medias last year. My trigger is boredom and loneliness. I will surely check my blank spaces were triggers come as fillers. :(

  13. I am going to cut down my phone usage that's what I am getting into right now. Apart from it I have no other weak points. My loneliness and boredom is my main weakness ლ(・﹏・ლ) I will definitely cut my bad habit into pieces and bury them deep.

One of the benefits of nofap is that you wont get bored as easily so that is one thing you could try to look forward to. I know i do and i notice it after a few weeks but it takes alot longer for me to get well. Been PMO:ing for decades.
PMO makes everything else feel boring, it becomes an evil circle where PMO is the only thing that is exciting anymore. But it takes time.. (no i dont have 500days, only 22. Need to reset, been off the forums for a long time).

Believe it or not. We all have to pass this "test" in order to become a greater self. I had the same problem except it happened to me every 7 days or sometimes almost 10 days so far. Now I am 31 days, it's not much but I didn't felt this month at all, it all happened so fast. For me it's the resolve and my reason to do this. Find a reason, a conviction, a strong one. For example I do this because I love myself, and having intimate interactions with women it's part of a man's life for the greater self. But I struggle with quitting smoking which is harder for me, and yeah I can't last 4 days without cigarettes which is bad, and I can tell you for sure that I have no conviction about cigarettes and I can see clearly why I am successful in nofap and not in quit smoking. Hope this helps you and enjoy your self knowing journey!

From what you've said I understand that you "want" to quit, by dou you have a reason for doing it? You need to have a reason! For example: when you are attracted to a girl, do you know the reason or you blindly "want" her?

Maybe you could read the book "How to Win Friends and Influence People".

Here's a recording of it from Youtube.
