    Hi guys,

    This is a really good place to find motivation and support to have a real life, free of anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and all the negative destroying things.

    I am a 24 years old man, I started PMO at age 10. While typing this line, I just realized that this is a a BIG 14 YEARS of bad habits and self destruction especially on the psychological level.

    I am in a relationship with a girl that I love and respect so much, we are in a serious happy relationship full of intimacy but with no sex (Started from 2 years ago) .. I'm planning to marry her the sooner I can.

    I feel that fapping destroyed my life and will always do for sure, it will also ruin our relationship in the future.

    Today, April, 14 2016 is my 7th day with no PMO

    I decided to go 90 days hard mode, I decided to be A BETTER ME

    Feel free to comment and give your opinions

    Hard mode is a REBOOT without orgasm. Check out the glossary. It's helpful
    Cheers

  6. "Hard mode" is the affectionate term for "no porn, no masturbation, and no orgasm," including sex with a spouse or partner, but NOT including spontaneous nocturnal emissions or other leakage a person cannot consciously control. It's borrowed from video gaming terms as the difficulty above normal. As Jolas has mentioned, the glossary is helpful to define terms that people throw around on the boards.

    @JOLAS Thanks for support,

    I think I have depression since many years. There are times I feel empty, lonely, sad, not wanting to meet people, etc.

    I searched the Internet and forums and I discovered that the symptoms I have are depression.

    I didn’t consult a doctor till now because I think it will not help, because I will be given anti depressions that I will test if they are working on me on not, the doctor will continuously change the prescription and dosage until finding out the meds that suit me.

    I’ve read that this process may take a long time and it may create side effects and dependency to meds, that’s why I prefer to treat self naturally using meditation and sharing with pple who love me.

    @FPDoc @JOLAS
    What do you think about my decision to not consult a doctor?

  9. My personal experience is that depression can be handled in a mutitude of ways, including meds, therapy, counseling, religion/faith/spirituality, various programs, and the loving concern of friends and family. Multiple studies show that better success is gained through a combination of modalities. As for meds, there is some truth to the trial and error part, but they generally don't make you addicted to them, as long as you stay away from the anti-anxiety meds in the benzodiazepine class.

    @alphawarrior I've had good results from anti-depressants prescribed by my psychiatrist. It took a couple of months to get meds and dosage right. Have your doctor order a test from GeneSight if your insurance will cover it. Mine did. Doctors find it helpful to indicate what medicines NOT to prescribe to you.
    I'm currently taking meds with no problems. Diet, excersise, sleep and daily prayer and meditation have been key to my recovery. And like you, I feel like I'm building a better me. Cheers, JOLAS

    thanks @FPDoc that was helpful
    @JOLAS I am not a US citizen, apparently my insurance doesn't cover psychological treatments
    I think I don't have a severe depression, I already started feeling better after starting the challenge.
    But you really encouraged me to consult a psychiatrist and have a first diagnosis it's not expensive
