I slipped again this morning while on youtube. This random thought crossed my mind and led me to it. Im not going to give up. I know jesus is on my side. I have to keep the faith and carry on. I dont feel bad about it. I just dont want to slip back into binging every day. Andd considering the fact that I'm a teenager, im constantly on my phone. I sucessfully went the first 3 weeks of August without it. And I want to be completely clean in September. Any thoughts or tips are welcome.

Yeah super helpful advice that has helped me change a lot that I got from a counselor who deals with recovery and addictions, A#1 is that it is always better to MO over PMO because PMO is WAY more addictive then MO. Also because of how PMO raised us we were trained to confuse any sexual urges or even edging as something that automatically leads to PMO, like pavlovs dog so you want to break that cycle and not look or think of PMO when the urges come.

I've had a talk with a lot of people with success stories and they agree with this approach. For many people it is too difficult to do both NoFap and quit PMO at the same time- and they thing they are both the same and this is wrong. I have not PMO'd for 35 days but I've MO'd in between and let me tell you that I am 1000x freer then I was when I took this approach, not only do you learn to stop thinking about P but with effort the times between you MO grows larger in between. So if you feel like your stuck or going down that road just MO before you get to P or walk away from the P and MO later on in the day because you do not want those things to be combined at all.

B#2 is that you need to get a calender system going where you are writing down the times you PMO/MO and how many times you did it that day for each incident. Start paying attention to how much you are lapsing in a given set of weeks or months instead of 'restarting' every time you make a mistake because addiction breaking isn't about going cold turkey its about going greater and greater lengths between lapses and slowly changing behavioral patterns and fixing where you can improve here or there. Because if you just get super mad at yourself every time you have to 'restart' really that is impeding your progress and you are not learning anything. most people on here have the wrong idea on what quitting an addiction means so they get stuck in a guilt loop and never get out.

Also keep praying and reading scripture, that is the most solid way to get better. A church leader of mine once said that 'studying the gospel improves behavior faster than studying behavior changes behavior.' Make a schedule to pray and read for certain amount of times in the day. Pray for protection against satan, against evil and temptation EVERY TIME and be specific about the struggles you need protection from and help with and ask for forgiveness and then let it go. This is the number one way to get better even out of all of the above. Always keep a prayer in your heart.

Other then that I watch anti-P material on youtube. I read articles from anti-P websites like here or here. Some sites contain triggers so be aware of that, but a lot of change comes in the change of perspective you get when you read and learn about P and what the industry is about it what it does to people it gets eye opening and it will help you quit.

Stay strong brother you're getting through this. 3 weeks is killer time and you can do that again.
