My longest streak is 10 days and I have tried this nofap thing for like almost one year. My streak is always between 2-5 days and then fail again. I have seen many videos and I am sure I really have a strong WHY , Please anyone help because it’s slowly destroying my academic life and also my social life... any advice?

  2. Hello Magician. I see you've joined very recently, only about two weeks ago. Wonderful !! Welcome to the community.

Be patient with yourself. Recovery unfolds over a much longer time: think 90 days at least. Give yourself time.

Start off taking things one moment at a time. Are you fapping right now? If not, you're doing great! If so, just stop. It's really not about the streaks, and its definitely not about beating yourself up for a so-called "failure".

Breathe in. Breathe out. If you're hand's in your pants, just pull it out. No big deal. Find yourself looking at porn? Just close the window, take a breath, and do something else, with as little drama as possible.

There may come a day where tracking a streak is useful for you, but I don't think that day is today. When you catch yourself "acting out', as gently as possible, just stop. We change by being kind to ourselves and wishing ourselves the best.

I encourage you to keep a daily journal on this site. I've been simply amazed by the support I've received, helping me to get a little better each day.

I really like how you are crystal-clear on the "WHY". Having that, I know you will succeed.

PS: In your post you say you've "tried this nofap thing" for a much longer time. That's cool (same for me: I started four years ago and then drifted off). My advice to you (and myself) is exactly the same.
