Not all of it yet, but eventually. Never done such a drastic thing like this. I know my issues run deeper than just porn but something has got to give. I can't live like this anymore.

It sucks, and it's difficult, but deleting your porn is the best first step ever. When I first really committed, I deleted my entire stash, 350GB total, including videos I'd paid for. For the first few minutes after I deleted them, I felt sad and a bit terrified, but that changed into me being proud of what I did. Deleting a massive temptation like that is a great way to get started on your nofap journey.

Trick i did was to delete most of it, then put some on a usb. I put the usb in a box and duct taped the shit out of it. Then when I was stronger i went back and deleted the rest of it. Get rid of all access right now. Then when you have a bit more strength, to back and finish it off. That helped me, maybe some will disagree. Do whats best for you.

Think of the porn like a big warm blanket. It's nice having it, it makes you feel secure but there is a time when it has got to go!

You can't just dip your toes. Without thinking about it, very quickly erase it all! As your doing it, pretend even that it's not permanently gone if you need to just so you can do it.

If you keep it, that's like saying, you know your going to look at it. LET GO. OF IT ALLLLLLLLLL

Thanks for the replies. I understand and know that I will eventually fail and masturbate soon. So I can't just go cold turkey, that is setting myself up for failure imo. I wanted to erase some of the easy access stuff first. The stuff that is almost reflexive and I find myself masturbating to without even thinking about it. I erased all of my favorite videos on a particular tube site which was a huge step in its own right. In due time I will erase all of my stuff on the HDD as I have already erased a considreable amount there too. I just can't do this cold turkey. I gotta have an out so that I don't go back to the other place where the fix is most strong. It's a start, along with working on other aspects of my life which got me to this point.

Also how do I erase my counter?

    oops, nevermind

Not going cold turkey is also guaranteed 'failure', in my opinion. To be completely free from this shit, you need to delete the rest of it.

Deleeetttteee iiiiiiittttttttt. Although relapses can and may happen, not having that stash will make it that much trickier.

You have to delete all of it. Even having a little bit of your porn laying around is going to be a massive temptation when you really get a few days into it and the testosterone starts to build up and the urges start coming. It's not easy, but it's necessary. When I first started nofap, I started making a list of all of my porn videos under the pretense of seeing just how extensive my catalogue really was. About a quarter way through it I realized that I was using that excuse as a pretense - I was really cataloguing it so that when I finished nofap, I could go and download and buy those movies all over again. After that, I deleted everything I had, around 350GB and I've been working on clearing my hard drive of stashes I put in other places.

If you really are gonna step up to nofap, you have to do this for yourself.

  14. Exactly. You want to do NoFap right? Not LessFap or LessPorn. Listen, if you are serious about quitting, then there will have to be a time, where you watch porn for the last time. Then, after that, you'll be in "cold turkey" mode, technically speaking. So, if there will be a last time, why delay the inevitable? Just delete all, and forget it. Otherwise you'll just tempt yourself to watch it "just this last time". Bullshit. You'll never quit that way. You'll be rationalising to just "take a peek". For like 4 hours.
It's like a knife in a wound. If you want to heal the wound, you'll have to remove the knife completely, right? No use pulling out the knife half way. The wound will not heal. Pull out the knife totally, and let the wound heal. A few months should be enough.

BTW a relapse is like stabbing yourself again. Yep, no healing that way either.

I kinda understand this approach: a relative of mine gave up smoking after 30+ years. He kept a packet of cigs in a cupboard for about 3 years. He said it was like a security blanket; that knowing they were there meant not getting in a panic. One day he just gave them away.

If you feel what you're doing is the right approach then keep going. I don't believe there is a set method to make beating addiction easier, though it depends how strong you're feeling and what triggers you. I have a USB full of P wrapped up in tape tucked away, and you what, right now I feel it's time for me to get rid. As I type, BANG, it's gone, deleted. I feel weird.

Go well with whatever you choose to do. Keep on the path.

seems that you are waiting for The Right Moment, but believe me it never comes. it's totally up to you to make any moment right for you.
Now think the stuff in your HDD as explosives and you know what you are not safe as long as you are with those explosives. Go and get rid of it ASAP, and you'll never regret your decision in future.
    believe me.
    stay healthy.... stay positive....God bless...

  17. Delete it all, having a little bit of it will lead to another fap session.

@aakkss ... he will have 1 regret. That he didn't do it sooner.

Good, getting rid of the Porn is a great first step. Replace it with something else ASAP.... TODAY. Phone a friend, go to the park, go to the mall, study, exercise, read, talk to someone at a coffee shop.... it doesn't need to be a girl.

Keep making baby steps.... even with baby steps you can walk a mile.
