    Hello all !

I'm 29, single, french, looking for job in computer science (struggle with motivation sometimes) and interested in controlling myself.
Last year, I stopped for 4 weeks, I don't know how I managed cause its usually one week.

I'm still not sure about the usefulness to stop for a longtime (more than 2 weeks). I need logical reasons to be strong.
Are there serious scientific articles that prove that ejaculating is bad for health ?
We read different points of view. For example in France, there are only naive articles that are positive.

    - The bad sides that i feel are : social anxiety, weak body/muscles, hair loss, loose nutrients, maybe brain problems and addiction (once a week or more).
Sometimes I don't care about these potential bad sides. I don't need a lot to be confident or strong cause I seldom go out. Regarding hair, I lost a lot already so I can shave my head.

    - Good sides : Its a pleasure and can help to forget girls. It releases the pressure cause it's difficult to work, live or sleep being nervous and sexual with testosterone. But maybe its caused by the addiction to masturbating. However this addiction may be natural so we shouldnt fight too much agaisnt it ?

I should be faster. When I do it, it can last 5 hours during a night and I'm destroyed.

    I never masturbate without porn.
Cause if I use my brain, I will think about girls I know and I dont want to be their slaves.

I remember when I worked in a restaurant some years ago.
An indian said to me that I looked old cause I ejaculated too much.

I have read that testicles fill with sperm during one week and after it's full. So if we masturbate after one week, we loose all the nutrients ?
We should wait at least 2 weeks to get more nutrients in the body ?

The most difficult time for me is often the night. My mood can swing down cause I'm not happy about my day (not enough worked).
I close my computer, go to bed and watch a movie on my smartphone to find sleep. Sometimes it takes one hour.
Last night I watched an episode of Punisher but stayed awake cause I went earlier to bed.
I closed my eyes but thought about porn... I tried to read a book but it was boring and I didnt force myself. So I watched porn again after 6 days.
Maybe I have should force myself to read more, drink alcohol, I don't know...

Finally I don't feel so bad. So I'm questioning you.
Ejaculating is natural, not like other drugs, so why stopping for a very long time ?
The rebooting really works ? After 90 days, I wont feel the urge to watch porn or masturbate ?

    Thank you for your attention.

Most people agree that masturbating is generally beneficial, no real harm in it occasionally, UNLESS:
you do it too much (when you are bored, stressed, trying to fall asleep or a few times a day etc), it can take away your energy, motivation, and damage the dopamine sensitivity of your brain (cause you release dopamine all the time).
Also if you masturbate to porn, that's the worse thing you can do and it's proven to cause many bad things, including erectile disfunction, social anxiety, lack of motivation etc.
There are a few more cases- read about it.
Nofaps goal is to reboot your brain if you need it, that's why we remove masturbation for long periods of time. If you need it, try for a while and see what happens. Nothing? Maybe you don't need nofap and just need other changes in your life.
After that you decide for yourself.

Thx for your answer. I always want to do the challenge/break my streak but change my opinion after one week.

Welcome. So cool that you jumped in man. Lots of people need coaxing a little to get out of their own space. You're in for a wonderful ride with recovery :)

Lots of us had or used to have problems at night. You've certainly read about some techniques to self-soothe without doing what you want to avoid.. any initial ideas about what you're intending to try? One of our new friends @PatrickR talks about pajamas as a barrier / protective layer, which helped me through more than a few nights, as well... if you haven't tried that before.

Ok so its more a protection in mind cause the pajama or any clothes are easy to take off.

  7. As is a web site to open. The clothing is a reminder, and a promise to oneself. :)
