Initially I stayed away from these forums just because of how ridiculous the label "Fapstronaut" sounded. I understood the meaning of it, an ex fapper that is pushing their ex fapping habits to the outer limits, to that place of the unknown for most. Also, I initially thought that the word "fapping" was ridiculous. Just a bit childish for my taste. It seems that we need to make things funny to make up for the uncomfortable real words that most people would understand. Or, that we need to turn words into a fad to initially attract the main stream crowd, thus turning the word masturbate into fap (just because is supposably sounds like masturbating). Then we turn a recovering or recovered porn addict into Fapstronaut. It just isn't necessary in my opinion. But then again, It may be somewhat necessary for attracting people to the site. What attracted me to the site was when I was super horny and wanted to control my craving, I would read basically anything from anywhere. Reading peoples recovery stories and problems attracted me. So being labeled a Fapstronaut doesn't necessarily bother me, but also isn't something I would say to a friend when explaining the site, or advertising it. Maybe we should have more than one label each individual can choose when creating an account. So one could say, I'm a "FreedomFapper" or "Fapster", or anything else that obviously points to the same thing. If it's going to be funny why can't it be funny in regards to our own humor? Matt.
