Only useful about facebook for me is Men's Health and their workout videos and to keep updated regarding the Wynn casino project up in Boston. I don't have like some +400 friends. Only have 21 friends because I have to know you in person. I am hardly ever on. Reason I decided to join facebook because my favorite band, Revis, decided to reunite in 2010. Yet sadly the band broke up in 2012 without releasing their second album. So now I am stuck with this facebook page of mine. LOL.

I never wanted to make a Facebook page because I didn't feel like advertising my life to the world ;)

    Absolutely incredible, sign me up.

I'm only going to check facebook now on Mondays & Wednesdays for 10 minutes to update dj stuff.

To keep myself accountable i'm going to put on a timer too.

Awesome decision bro. Quitting social media could really help you reconnect with the 'real' society. A chance for developing healthier relationships, achieve fulfillment, and simply improve your overall well-being. Creating a wonderful life outside the internet will permanently distance you from the addiction. Much respect brother! Keep it up. Remember solitude is different with loneliness. You should always choose solitude.

  6. I got rid of mine a couple of years ago. I had always found it pretty annoying really, even if sometimes if it was useful. But it was only really useful because it had usurped email. A lot of people pretty much stopped using email and replaced it with Facebook. I tried changing Facebook settings so that I would only receive updates if someone sent me a message, but Facebook was too clumsy and I ended up not receiving updates at all, so I would miss messages from people.

Then there was all the spying Facebook was doing on people to make advertising revenue. And people I didn't like were adding me as a friend. What if someone wrote something really nasty on my "wall" or whatever it was called. And so on and so forth.

But even for someone like me who didn't like it much, it felt like a big change to delete it. I often wondered if I'd made the right decision. Now I'm pretty sure it was the right decision and I never think about Facebook unless someone mentions it. I know a guy who has his Facebook settings just right so it doesn't annoy him, so that could be an option too.

I thought about deleting mines also, but I'll probably keep it and check it maybe once a day. I have to say that social media has kind of ruined the whole concept of the high school class reunion, since you can see what's been going on in your classmates life's. Furthermore, out of the 200 friends I have on Facebook, I've only spent time with about 5 of them in person.
