I would have posted in another thread if I gave in to PMO but somehow my inner conscious persuaded me not to. I cracked the password for K9, saw some porn and "warning" man the chicks were getting banged in my favorite positions "warning" but I kept reminding myself not to, you have made it this far, don't go for it! This thing will never end, it will keep getting worst, the past 6 years prove that. So I finally fought back my desires, stopped the downloading, asked my friend to put up a password on very strict directions and here I am, writing this in the success thread. To be honest, I never would have went for PMO if my life wasn't going all downhill as of lately, here is what I have noticed in 12 days
1- I have come to the conclusion that the chick magnet thing is bullshit, I am a good looking, well built guy but only few girls notice me, I didn't see an increase in my sex appeal or maybe it will come later.
2- Sometimes my energy level spikes up prompting my old friends to admit that I have changed meaning "sharp" and sometimes it goes downhill just like today. I feel like I have weak picking up to lectures in class, I don't know whether it will change in time or not.
3- Sometimes dumb and sometimes smart, no matter how I wish that the smart part stays constant, it is not.
4- Strong physical health but not mental (it is only sometimes).
5- Alpha attitude is slowly developing but with it I am also becoming more calmer.
6- I put all of my energy in studies but I still lack behind especially in morning classes (sleep span reduced to a few hours could be a reason?)
7- Some ups and downs, I hope to reap the benefits very soon like some successful guys here but I am skeptical over this so-called super-human thing. Do successful guys use words like chick magnet to convince addicts like us to stop our addiction or do they really mean it?. I am a good looking guy but so far no results!
I want honest to God answers for this that will quitting PMO yield good results in the long term because I made my friend promise me one thing that if I fail to achieve good grades or a good life within the next few months then he will give me the password because it will be all for nothing then.

    Soldier:

I read a lot of claims on this site about how quitting PMO will make you smarter, physically stronger, more attractive to the opposite sex and the like. I think many of these claims are highly questionable and should be taken with a grain of salt.

That doesn't mean giving up PMO won't change your life for the better; I think it will.

A more realistic set of expectations might be something like the following:

    > You will be taking control over an important part of your life.
    > You will be ending a habit that consumed major amounts of your time and energy for little result.
    > You will be getting rid of something you are probably ashamed of.
    > As a result, you will have more time, and energy, for other, more meaningful things.
    > You will stop expending sexual energy for nothing. As a result, you may reasonably expect to have more sexual vigor.
    > You will stop messing with your brain-sex-drive system; before you trained it to focus on fantasy/image/fapping. A real relationship benefits when this system is focused on the other person.
    > Chances are, you'll have a better conscience.
    > You'll be cleaning out your memory system of images you'd be highly embarrassed if everyone saw them.
    > You may well, as a result of all this, feel better about yourself, about life, and have more confidence in your approach to life. And it's certainly possible this will be something others will pick up on, and find attractive (i.e., girls). No assurance.
    > You may well find you have more focus on things that matter more. No guarantees, but it stands to reason.

But you know what? Ultimately, the reasons to do this must come from YOU. You alone know what ways PMO has cost you; and what you believe you will gain from giving it up.

Porn does not effects me as much as masturbation does, I stopped myself from PMO so I think it counts as a success story. I agree that I posted in the wrong thread but there are several others too and your response didn't really help me so it was quite irrelevant.

Great answers and you are right, in the end it depends on the person.

I agree with @IGY and @Septimus the claims that this will make you superhuman is highly questionable at best and at worst an unattainable dream. I also agree that if you are looking at P then you need to restart your counter. Figure out what your goals are, mine is to be able to O with a partner. Goals are better the more realistic the are. In addition a lot of what you are complaining about is inconsistency in your outcomes like sometimes smart sometimes not smart. The brain is like a muscle and then on top of that it is reactive to your body. If you neglect one the other will suffer. In addition to NoFap -> Work out, read, study, sleep well, and eat well. That should bring consistency to your outcomes.

I relapsed because I viewed pornography a while earlier but alas in the end I won despite breaking my promise, my discipline and breaking my friend's trust. I added a scramble of words by instantaneously typing on the keyboard, without seeing it, I hovered my mouse pointer towards it, Crtl + C and I pasted in the password section without even having an idea of what I just entered. Now no one will give me the password nor I would have to beg a person for it. In the end I won!

Sigh.. i don't get why people try to find loop holes or whatever the case may be. It's plain and simple.
    1. don't watch porn or porn substitute (literature, youtube,Facebook, twitter, you get the idea)
    2. avoid triggers
    3. don't touch your dick.
If you did either of the 3 you reset your counter. Quit rationalizing and man up.
That "we're all different" crap people keep saying is down right stupid. It's as simple as 3 steps, the difficulty may vary but it involves the same damn issue. PORN.

I have a 36 day streak. In that time i did start to M or look at psubs.

But then midway i stopped telling myself it's wrong.

IMO this shows I am building a defence system and changing mindset.

A reboot isn't where you abstain from pmo forever all of a sudden. How can you possibly do this when you have a HABIT?

My habit is for 15 years... you cannot expect someone to eliminate a habit overnight and forever.

Look at those that smoke. Do they quit 30 cigarettes a day in one attempt but fail then beat themselves up about it or do they gradually reduce?

I think some people don't know the meaning of habit..

it is good you stopped. However don't break through the K9... it should deter you... i have disabled adult content from my mobile network provider... i could reinstate it but it is hassle and will prevent my prestigious progress!

Lol man calm down, I did reset my counter because I indulged in PMO so lesson learned. I avoided triggers for the last 12 days.

I dont really believe in the superhuman thing, it was a temptation to start this journey for sure.. But the motivation with quitting for me is to cut out a distraction and an addiction, whether its a substance or a monitor screen. To make me more aware of the present and my own life. Yes it was depressing at first, because you get closer to yourself, for me that was pretty new. I want to connect with people and spread love. Porn really brainwashed me slowly but successfully. So if I wrap this up, I dont believe in the superhuman thing, maybe in the begining I felt it but later I just enjoyed a more present centered me with real realationships with women. Things is forever in change and motion, and nothing last, superhuman was just a phase for me as a manifestastion of a healthy change in lifestyle. Keep at it man if you think it will make you a happier human being! I belive in you :)

I dont think you necessarily become super human, but become human which is certainly a step up (for me at least). Stopping objectifying women leads to far better interactions with them, energy levels are restored to normal and I feel much more in control of my life and destiny. These are all about being human. I agree superhuman maybe an exaggeration, but being human is pretty super.

Also if most men are stuck in PMO then I guess you can expect a better than average life if off it.
