Ice-Packs

  1. As we all know cold showers can cut away almost any kind of urge.
    But let's say that there can be times where can't have cold showers. Some of us may be reluctant to have cold showers.

    In such situations is the use of an ice-pack on the scrotum a good alternative?

    Has anyone used ice-packs and what are your experiences of them when it comes to letting go of urges?

    I am thinking of getting one for myself (despite continuing on with daily cold showers).

  3. Today I had a strong urge, and even though it was not a cold shower I did take the shower head to my hands and turned the shower to its coldest. Then I directed this towards my scrotum.

    It’s just that having an ice-pack seems a convenient alternative as you won’t have to wet yourself unlike having to walk into the shower cubicle to cut the urge.
     
  4. Won't that be a bit dangerous though? I use an ice pack for a shoulder injury and after 10 minutes my shoulder becomes incredibly cold without my actively noticing it. I imagine applying an ice pack on my dick and balls could result in a serious injury.

    Don't worry about it. Our body can withstand cold far more than it can tolerate heat. 10 minutes is quite trivial, even. Just don't overdo it to the point of pain. If you get even a hint of pain, stop.

    As for your balls, 2-3 minutes should be enough to stop the boner. Leave it on for 1 minute extra at most, not because it'll harm you, but because after 4-5 minutes of exposure, any further cold won't make the situation any better than it already would be.

  6. I'm just saying we are talking about our reproductive system. I'm not sure it's a good idea to freeze your balls with ice packa. That shit is dangerous. I wouldn't do it man.

  7. Some very good points here, thanks Optimum Fortitude and Omega. Perhaps these ice-packs come in different sizes. I may get a small one, and even if I didn't have a choice but to buy a large one I wouldn't leave it for long but take out as soon as the urge goes.

    When I was asleep I had an urge. I do have to be honest that part of me was enjoying it. The only thing I did yesterday night was to use the cold shower on my penis and scrotum - where I didn't even keep it that long enough because of pain and intense cold.

    This morning when I took my cold shower, I did take the shower head and direct the cold water stream to my manhood like yesterday, but I kept it for longer. Then I did my usual routine (5 Tibetan Rites, Yoga, Kum-Nye) and now the urge is fully gone. But I suspect it will come back and I am determined not to feed the urge.

    However, next time or whenever possible, when I go to the store or pharmacy I will get an ice-pack because I feel that nothing is worth losing this streak which I worked so hard to maintain.

  8. I bought an ice-pack from the local pharmacy. Left it in the freezer for more than an hour on the scrotum and penis. I used it on me but applied it for less than a minute. I have it beside my mattress as a stand-by utility to use in case if I wake up with ar urge or erection. I hope the cold lasts for a few hours outside the freezer because it doesn't have to be freezing cold to get rid of the urge.

    But honestly, in the morning I may do Wim Hof breathing and jump in the cold shower.

    LOL theres a facebook group dedicated for this called sub zero or something. Theyre crazy after this shit swearing their wallets and underwear by it!

    Says it works almost like viagra and increases load count like craaazy.

    Ive done it for a few days, lol I knew realised I had so much muscle and blood down there lool.

    Basically whatever you ice it makes it go on super crazy mode like you took some invincible zombie drug.

    So like it rushes blood like crazy down there to the point I was getting some pains.

    For me personally I was sedentary, hadn't worked out in months and had some back pain. So FORCING so much blood and liquid to flow fast there, it kind of shocked my back haha and thigs haha. It was a little painful and i thought i had messed up my back for good, but it was only for about 15minutes after I took the ice off. What happened is all the crazy rush kind of snapped my vessels leading to the genitals (where the ICE was) and kind of contracted and EXPANDED the blood vessels. All the surroudning areas like my lower back just went in a slightly odd position and contracted as well.

    So yh, make sure you got good blood pressure, posture, etc.

    15min a day icing is good for beginner.

    - don't touch the skin, it will irritate yea, you can use your towel and one of those freezing tablets that you carry on the road to keep stuff cool

    eventually body can support more and these guys are considering specially made underwear with extre secret pocket to put ice in LOL, icing all day baby!


    .....Its like Wim Hoffs method isn't it? Except, for the area that you ice only.

    COLD IS LIFE! I'm telling you, people do crazy shit in the summer because the heat is deadly to their brain and cells. Cold is life, now take a deep cool breathe of air in!

  10. Today I deliberately created an urge in my mind, but it was one which was within safety limits of me not putting my streak at risk, and therefore it may not be the ideal imitation of the real scenario.

    After the urge, I waited, and took my ice-pack from the freezer and applied it on my groin and mildly pressed it on my penis and scrotum for about less than a minute (for some reason time seems longer than usual when exposed to the cold).

    The urge vanished straight away without the need for me to take a cold shower. This alternative definitely works, however, I will still continue to take my morning cold showers as usual.

    I hope to apply this ice-pack on my scrotum and penis every night before I go to bed so that the urge is as low as possible before I go to sleep.

  11. I think I figured out how to use ice-packs properly.

    You have to take it out from the freezer and leave it to go above freezing temperatures. This can be checked by seeing whether frost still continues to form on the pack. If it reaches a point where there is no frost or just watery condensation on the pack, then I use it at this point.

    I don't know about the details of all ice-packs, but the one which I use, all I have to do is put in the freezer for at least one hour for it to work, and then leave it outside to warm up a bit.

    Today I used it twice, once in the morning and later in the afternoon and I about use it again in a few moments. So far this has brought me great success and helped to keep urges down throughout the day.

    I put it between my scrotum/penis and my underwear and I sit whiles using the computer or sitting on my bed. As long as it is not freezing I can keep it on me till the pack is not cold enough so I wash it and put it back in the freezer.

    I have a spare ice-pack in the freezer, so when the other one is used and being frozen then I can use the other one and alternate between them.

    I think you should stop the urges with a strong will and by focusing on other things and being enaged in something that you enjoy like reading a book, playing games, listening to soothing music etc as this way your brain would heal faster and you won't relapse.

  13. Yes Suk, I am doing the Monk Mode on NoFap on this streak and this involves avoiding entertainment (such as music, shows and films) and I do fasting (avoiding meals/snacks after lunch) and so far this has been the best streak I ve ever had.

    I have a big reading list and hope to get through as much as I can.

    The ice-packs use is something I am trying out mostly on an experimental basis. So far the use of ice-packs was successful. I just want to make sure that it is an available option as a safety measure in case if I face an emergency with respect to NoFap.
