I was thinking about this earlier today... I'm not sure if would, considering how much I've learned about discipline and self-improvement largely because of NoFap.

    What do you think?

You know what? For the first time in my pathetic life, I can actually say that I don't regret anything that ever happened to me in my life.

Me, I had to vote yes. I really just never got it, that PMO was causing problems. If I could have gone NoFap back in my 20s, man, my sex life and life overall would have been SO much better. Also I would have had more motivation to meet people and work on relationships. Yeah, I was in deep and had no clue.

Of course not ! My rough past made me become the beautiful, intelligent and sensitive young man that I am today ! It's a part of our past and my opinion is that we can only be in peace once we stop regretting it.

  5. Yep. I have an addictive personality. Translation: I love dopamine highs. If I had not been told that drugs were addictive, I would probably be addicted to drugs. I was told drugs were addictive. Consequently, I avoided drugs. No one told me that porn induced dopamine addiction was possible. I was clueless. I had no idea. As a result, when that "high" became available to me, I took it. One of the reasons I took it was that I had no idea it could cause a problem. If I had known it could cause a problem, I still might have taken it, but I don't think I would have become hooked on it. Knowledge is power. As Gabe Deem says, Get Educated.

  6. Yes. The impact on my life has been horrible; altering my thoughts and behaviours to detrimental effect. Similar to @WilliamOneAndDone I didn't touch drugs.

Now when i look back i realize how much hours i waited for the porn video to buffer, how thought more about the words to type in google search for a new variety of porn...i realize that it was too much time wasted. but i was a kid/teen then. i dont think i would want to be as serious then as i am now. maybe teenage years are you goof around n have fun.

but i wish my goofing around was non sexual. things would've been different. yes i regret the pmo's

Hm... I think I might've told myself porn was bad at 10 years old, if I could. By the time my father told me about it at 12, I was already addicted.

  9. No, because this journey has made me stronger, and I don't regret anything that has happened.

  10. Sure, if I could go back 20 years, I would warn 14 year old me.
But 14 year old me would not believe whatever that old idiot has to say. :)

I would definitely warn myself but like the majority of other my younger self would probably not listen. If anything I'd go back to when I just started college and have a sit down with a more rational but no less addicted individual.

You bet I would have told myself. It definitely wouldn't have stopped me from viewing porn frequently, but having the awareness of what was happening to me at an earlier age would have been a very powerful weapon. It is an open question of whether I would have used the power for good or for evil (I'd like to think the former, but I know my younger self). It is definitely odd rebooting after more than 20 years of daily PMO and lacking the awareness of how addiction works (not just PMO but addiction generally).

The older generations used to warn the younger generations about masturbation for decades, it's like they knew something we didn't. Now we live in an anything-goes society and I feel like all we are doing is re-discovering the value of resisting PMO. So yes, I would tell myself not to go down that road just like I will warn my future child.

I personally voted no because getting control over pmo did really strengthen my character and in the end I didn't have to travel back in time and tell my younger self to get rid of it. It was a test I had to pass to become a man.

I would have told myself that people were going to tell me the biggest lie ever accepted in modern society but not the lie itself. I would probably wonder what the lie would be and the last thing that I would have thought of would be porno. Then years would pass and I would discover the lie and I would be awakened!

I definitely would, and I know just how I'd do it. I'd be like...

"msmahamed", masturbation and pornography might feel good and be fun, I know. But, if you keep doing it...then you'll have sex with this...

*show photograph of women I lost my virginity to*

"today is the youngest you'll ever be, I know things are hard right now, but by doing this now, I guarantee you, you'll thank yourself."

If I scolded or lectured my younger self, he wouldn't have listened.

Oh man. That photograph method would've totally worked on 16 year old me.

Originally I was just thinking I'd describe a six year spiral of addiction, depression, and rejection, but a photo would've sealed it for sure.

  20. Of course I would warn myself. Why wouldn't I? PMO caused me many problems. When I sit down and think about it, though, would it have really made a difference? The temptation and sexual curiosity as a young man about to become a teen is intense. When I was about 10, one of my childhood friends introduced me to porn when I slept round his house one evening. Even if he hadn't, I still probably would have sought it out myself anyway. I mean, who knows eh?

It is incredibly rare that kids, both male and female are completely able to avoid porn. It's everywhere.

If I knew all that I know now, I'd definitely like to be able to rewind the clocks. Some things in life I don't regret, and wouldn't change, but PMO has added absolutely no life lessons or value in my life whatsoever. None, and any male who says it has is ignorant. It brings nothing but stress and sorrow, and the temporary satisfaction of PMO is nothing but a mirage and illusion. It's a lie.
