I'm just tired of this oversexualized society

Idk anymore

yeah, yeah I know, sex sells. But this is just unbelievable. Sex is almost everywhere nowadays; on social media, in the streets, on TV, video games, it just never ends. I also don't understand why women keep wearing revealing clothes over time, effectively sexualizing themselves. And don't give me that bullshit on how they wear that shit for themselves, or because it's comfortable, or whatever because we all know that's just a big lie people tell themselves because they are too afraid to call women out for it out of fear of being labeled as misogynists and canceled by SJWs

I'm just done with this society. Athough this society is still filled with good and pure people, there's a clear abundance of degenerates and lowlives nowadays. It's no wonder I feel the peaceful and fanatastic inside when I simply stop going out and live inside like a monk focusing on nothing but spirituality

That is exactly what was GOING ON IN MY MIND!!!!!
I hate the fact that women themselves wear revealing clothes just too get a bunch of likes and views on social media :(

A lot of people operate on auto pilot and end up doing things that are harmful to them without realizing it. We get addicted to PMO because it is "the norm" and we think little of it when we originally engage in it.

It's the same for women wearing sexy clothes on social media. They end up addicted to the attention and become needy for the validation they receive. They may give the impression of being happy (everyone on social media does) but really there is some suffering there too. I read before of a young girl addicted to making tic toks because her videos would become flooded with comments from people complementing her. This created an ocd type situation for her with a lot of anxiety involved.

I think it's a vicious cycle with men getting addicted to the stimulation and self pleasure but a lot of women are creating their own hell too.

As I said above, everyone else is doing it and they "appear" happy so it's easy to fall into these things through conformity. It's hard to get out when you realize it's all a load of crap.

Something I find really annoying is if you have any friends who get laid a lot, and it is literally close to all they talk about when you're with them, or even worse in a group of friends and a few of them get laid a lot. I can't stick that when a group of my friends constantly go on about it, and when they joke about it, winding the people up who aren't getting laid much or at all. It's very annoying.

completely agree, women out there who dress as skimpily as possible then make excuses as to why, we all know they bare their chests and asses for attention and frankly it's infuriating.

oh i see that scenario clearly, the typical "douchey players" who brag about poonani 24/7 and consistently dump on guys who don't get action, borderline depressed homsexuality and massive fragile egos.
god I'd like to crack those types of guys faces open, they gotta realise that pssy isn't the world.

I feel you on every single thing you've said here, man. sex sells - we wouldn't be on here if we weren't victims of this. and now, the women who post thirst traps in their swimsuits, or in their dresses strutting out their butts and busts on Instagram and other social media know exactly what they're doing. it renders men like us who want to be better powerless.

like someone above also said, men and patriarchy have definitely made it this way. I get the point that women should be able to express themselves, but they know exactly where we fall weak and they know they have our attention by the balls. there's no way we can change what's happening out in the world.

I wish we could be monks and be happy in solitude, like you said. I feel the same peace and serenity whenever I do not have to step outside or when I do not have to be on a website where society spews this toxic stuff. but we do live in this society and we do have to deal with it. we're on this forum, we're in this together, and we're gonna choose to be better men. and we change ourselves, and we do this because we know it is difficult. if it was easy to achieve, there'd be nothing special about it.

by doing this, we will not get any attention or recognition. very few will ever know our struggle.

we're gonna be those few men who stay strong of heart and clean of mind to not indulge our lust or give these kinds of women attention. a woman has got to have more than just an attractive body to appeal to me. we will not conform. we will stare our demons down and overcome them. we will stare this society down too. there are many things in life that do fulfill us intellectually and emotionally, and we'll choose to give those things our attention, not a woman's fleeting and vain beauty.

I'm fairly certain that when such Instagram women don't get the number of likes they want, they get frustrated. that shows how fragile their esteem and their "self-empowerment" really is. they're just as hollow too.

we will be on our own. but we will be content with ourselves because we are not dependent on society's approval. we are free because we can have power over our minds and we do and achieve whatever we set our minds to. who cares for a thousand likes on Instagram?

I also don't understand why women keep wearing revealing clothes over time, effectively sexualizing themselves.

This is the kind of opinion (of men) that lead women to have to cover themselves from head to toe to not possibly attract a man... Focus on your reaction to things instead of blaming other people for it first.

Society is no doubt oversexualised, , or at least the western one surely is as I don't want to speak for the other ones and that's the one I live in.

It's hard to collectivelly judge just men or women that it is that way, because we all are part of such society, and it's not possible to separate people like that and playing a blame game for societal problems.

The fact is, an individual will always change inside out sooner than the masses, and this behaviour in a way predicts the possible outcoming of the developement of the whole society when it comes to certain challenges. People who point out such problems as first, are capable of pushing it forth, and get enough publicity one way or another, are then retrospectively remembered as the founders of such movements, when really they were just somebody who were the first ones given the voice to talk about the struggles that many individuals have already acknowledged, while the sleeping masses will be shocked and they almost always refuse it as first. Gary Wilson will be probably one of them.

By saying this I'm also stating that the very existence of NoFap and No Porn, along the other minor communities like these, may be the start of the societal change, of people trying to find values in their lives again because they feel emptied by the pure empiric experience of superficial luxury, and be responsible, which amongs the other things also brings about the ability to say 'no' to the pleasure and short term satisfaction. That's when men will really respect women and women also respect themselves and wont act cheap.

But it will be a slow change, it starts with the individuals and turns societal only gradually, it's not possible to implement by some rule, a list of principles or anything else, because it's a result of a natural self evolvement to fulfill ur spiritual and emotional needs, which feel hollow at the current state.

@Dares Greeneye

That's a very optimistic picture, and I see your point though more as an ideal than what ends up happening. I guess it depends on what level. Even here a lot of people might basically just go for a day count, taking the gamification quite literally and of course in any given movement there are still a lot of people that just follow, even if the group is more of an exception in the larger societal context. Which makes me wonder what if everyone really dug deep instead of just kind of doing a program in autopilot mode? (which might be the case with hard mode or whatever mode of abstinence) Not everybody will write a book but it's a fundamentally different way than just following some general guidelines, especially with an issue that's as intimate as sexuality.

Honestly I don't think it will change. But it's probably because I'm christian and I think that there is evil is how our society is turning up.

I was looking at it that way as well, an ideal, but I see it more of a neccessity now. There will be only more porn, and only more people will indulge in it (in case that people who are actively dealing with this will remain a minority), which cant lead to anything else than more suffering. And the more suffering there will be, people will try even the ways they werent willing to give up on like not watching P anymore, to get free of the suffering bevause it will be unbearable.

Some may be capable to balance living a normal life and not let porn nor MO consume them, but I see those people as a minority as well.

There’s a lot of discussion here on larger societal issues. I don’t really wanna discuss that.

but I will vent for a moment. Sex is so normalized in the west (and east Asia, I think). Its everywhere and I didn’t really notice UNTIL I tried to quit PMO.

now, even after being on and off (mostly on) NoFap streaks for years, sooo many things remind me of porn. If something has even a modicum of sexuality to it (and EVERYTHING DOES) then you know there’s porn of it. Rule 34, etc.

And that nagging curiosity is there. “Just check out if there is porn about that.” That voice is so annoying and so strong, and so many things in our culture trigger it.

I’m just so annoyed by it all.

The consequences of this trivialization of sex are visible to those who want to see them. Sex was something very private and forbidden in the past, and it's not by chance that societies where stronger than now. There is a strong correlation between sex trivialization and societal weakness. I heard something that I really like: Societies are born stoic and die hedonistic.

That makes sense to me, because the more promiscuity and sex trivialization, the more eroded the family and marriage are, and the more erosion we put on this pillars, the more decomposed the society.

On the other hand there are more people that are getting this ideas over time, it's our mission to talk about these things and try to fix the situation and do whatever is in our power, even if it's such a little thing as to speak freely about it to our relatives.

I think the higher up you go in the hierarchy the more those people understand it's not trivial though, but of course they use sex to sell and for their own profit. I was going to post this clip separately but it kind of fits the discussion here:
