Hello any and everyone who takes a look at this!

Thank you in advance to anyone who takes time out of their day to read this. I'm praying this community holds the answers and tools Ive been seeking.

I suppose no questions are needed as to why i signed up for the site but i do want to share a little about my story if you would like to hear it. Truth be told im not sure how else to tackle my addiction and the struggle has worn out its welcome. As a man in his early twenties i began my foray into porn over a decade ago. For the longest time i didn't think it had an impact on my life or a hold over my soul. But now... I'm not so sure.

The last 4 months have been the longest of life as i have battled a severe depression. Ive been scratching the walls trying to pin down what was the catalyst for my downcast state for too long. Things that once brought me joy and comfort offer no solace. People and activities that are vital to my progress as a human being seem like insurmountable obstacles. I would not wish my current soulcrushing perspective on even my worst enemies. After studying and researching porn addiction on a whim i believe it to be a major factor of my current state. And that's why im here. I'm here to try a new angle with more support and the positive energy to back it up.

I'm tired. I'm tired of being tired. I'm tired of failing. I'm tired of being sad and feeling isolated. If your interested in helping this young man start anew i would greatly appreciate it.

I'm stealing this goal list idea from Violindude's intro ;)

    1. I'm hope to quit porn in its entirety.
    2. I'm going to pursue the myriad of hobbies and business ventures i have put by the wayside.
    3. I'm going to reestablish my self esteem and worth as an individual.
    4. Have a great time and make some memories. We only get one shot!

Thank you for your time and good luck with your own trials and travails.

Hello @Slylen. You articulate your current soulcrushing perspective with poignant precision. Knowing the nature of the beast will serve you well. If your research did not incorporate the research of Gary Wilson, I recommend you seek answers to your questions on his site: http://www.yourbrainonporn.com/

Notwithstanding your ennui, I sense hope and a desire to become a proactive participant in your recovery. The adapted goals from @violindude's post are excellent. This challenge is far from simply not doing something. It is about what you do i.e. living a more awesome life. Your progress will not be linear, please accept this inconvenient truth, but be sure recovery is possible. For further inspiration, you could do no better than read this post from one of our moderators - @NoBrainer:
