    Hey guys,

I'm 19m and my porn addiction has been getting worse and worse. I have tried on many occasions to quit and failed alot of times. I mainly fail due to stress, anxiety, or guilt. I either get stressed/anxious with stuff going on and resort to porn. Or I think back to some bad things I've done during my life and go to porn to cope with it and forget about it. I'm really addicted to porn and even the thought of quitting scares me. I'm scared that my past will haunt me and also scared of the anxiety/insomnia (my main withdrawal symptoms) to come whilst I recover.

I don't know why i'm writing this, I just really needed to get that out there and really need to beat my addiction. Thanks to this community for making it easier and being really tolerant of the things people post here. I've seen many people talk about bad things they've done in their past and the nofap community never fails to provide support and help get people back on track.

I guess I need to realise that I can't change the past, but I can change the future and make things right from now on. God bless you all :)

EDIT: my day counter is wrong, will change it soon. Unfortunately, I am on day 0 :(

don't let fear beat you. Lots of things are scary first time you do them, learn to embrace the discomfort if you think it may be temporary. And don't worry about having tried lots of times before - most people are that way, keep on trying and eventually you will find your streak. Good luck!

I'm glad to see you working to quit this addiction at age 19. I went 25 years into a PM habit and am now quitting at 39. I wish I would have started addressed this when I was your age. Check out this short video I posted.

I'd highly recommend reading or listening to the PMO version of Allen Carr's book. One of the big focuses is to remove fear in quitting.

I used that book to quit smoking many years ago, and I always saw the parrallels to pmo, so I'm so glad to hear someone has taken the time to convert it - thanks for the post Candun!

Thanks everyone for the help! I'm proud to announce that I'm 4 days in and am doing well so far. I know 4 days is quite amateur compared to some of you but it's a step in the right direction and I intend to keep going. I appreciate the helpful comments and videos, I don't think I could have even done 4 days without all this support so thankyou guys!! :) I wish you all the best

Hey! There is also a book by Gary Wilson called on P. Needle, it is also in audio format. I would also recommend keeping a journal on this site, writing your feelings, sometimes re-reading it, this also helps. I wish you good luck friend!

Just to advise you, it is not easy. Don’t have such high expectations.
Know what you’ll be fighting a battle against yourself constantly, but the upside will be completely worth it.

  14. Mate, I also suffered from bouts of insomnia which made sleeplessness my main trigger. If you can try and get some medication to help you with this it will be a great benefit to your recovery progress.

Freedom from addiction is always possible found in a new way of living and seeing things and people.

Still chained up like a prisoner in a mental dungeon here myself.
