Yesterday marked my first day of my current streak and last night I only slept about two hours or so. I tried desperately to get back to sleep for hours but could not manage it, and decided to stay up even though I felt rather tired. After I ate some food however I’m all of a sudden feeling as though I slept maybe six or seven hours last night and seem to have a sense of unexplained excitement and increased energy. I’ve been exercising daily for the past month while trying to get back on a streak, eating healthy and for the past two nights I’ve had cold showers. This is the first time I’ve seemingly experienced insomnia as a withdrawal symptom and I can’t explain the fact that I don’t even feel that tired or sleepy. Has anyone else experienced this?

  2. Since I’ve started nofap this year I’ve battled insomnia. It has been the biggest withdrawal symptom for me. There was a one point where I got around 7 hours of sleep for the whole workweek. Now that I’ve read your post and thinking back...I wasn’t tired either. Now mentally I was frustrated and couldn’t focus on much. I imagine that was due to the sleepless nights but physically...I didn’t miss a beat at work. Just recently I’ve started taking Benadryl to knock me out. It keeps me out for a couple hours...which is better than I was doing before at least. Hopefully our sleeping patterns will even out soon.

That describes this feeling perfectly. Mentally I’ve been more alert, but physically I don’t feel that tired. It’s very strange. I hope this won’t last too long...

  4. I’ve read it usually doesn’t. I just think I’m a severe case for whatever reason. Either way I’m sure we both agree its worth pushing through the sleepless nights in exchange for a new start in life ;)
