  1. Isaiah 40:28-31
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

  2. 3 Nephi 14:24-27
24 Therefore, whoso heareth these sayings of mine and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, who built his house upon a rock—
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not, for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine and doeth them not shall be likened unto a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand—
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell, and great was the fall of it.

Many times I’ve told my children to be wise. And many times I’ve then gone and been unwise myself. To be wise one must apply correct knowledge correctly. As I reflect on how I’ve gone about trying to overcome PMO I can see there have been times I have not been wise. However, God is good and the Lord is merciful and they allow me to live and learn. They allow me to learn at my own pace too. Well, it’s taken me such a long time to learn how to be a non-user of pornography that there’s no going back now. I can see the need to be built on a rock, the Rock, in these tumultuous times.

  3. Matthew 5:44–45
“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”

“When someone has hurt us or those we care about, that pain can almost be overwhelming. It can feel as if the pain or the injustice is the most important thing in the world and that we have no choice but to seek vengeance. But Christ, the Prince of Peace, teaches us a better way. It can be very difficult to forgive someone the harm they’ve done us, but when we do, we open ourselves up to a better future. No longer does someone else’s wrongdoing control our course. When we forgive others, it frees us to choose how we will live our own lives. Forgiveness means that problems of the past no longer dictate our destinies, and we can focus on the future with God’s love in our hearts.” —Elder David E. Sorensen

  4. Philippians 4:8
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

“By seeking the Lord through prayer and through his holy scriptures, we learn to look for the beautiful and to develop positive attitudes. We achieve guidance in the building of our foundations and our lives.” —Elder Keith W. Wilcox

  5. 1 Nephi 7:12 Book of Mormon
Yea, and how is it that ye have forgotten that the Lord is able to do all things according to his will, for the children of men, if it so be that they exercise faith in him? Wherefore, let us be faithful to him.

"My dear brothers and sisters, my call to you this Easter morning is to start today to increase your faith. Through your faith, Jesus Christ will increase your ability to move the mountains in your life, even though your personal challenges may loom as large as Mount Everest.

Your mountains may be loneliness, doubt, illness, or other personal problems. Your mountains will vary, and yet the answer to each of your challenges is to increase your faith. That takes work. Lazy learners and lax disciples will always struggle to muster even a particle of faith.

To do anything well requires effort. Becoming a true disciple of Jesus Christ is no exception. Increasing your faith and trust in Him takes effort. May I offer five suggestions to help you develop that faith and trust." -President Russell M. Nelson

I'd like to add pornography addiction and sexual impurity to President Nelson's list.
I know it can seem impossible to the mind of an addict or to someone who has struggled with pornography / sexual impurity for many years (or a very long time) but I now know that He who came to earth to serve His Father and who was scorned, beaten, spat upon, and killed is full of grace and mercy and has all power to help every single struggling soul remove the mountain of pornography addiction and sexual impurity from their lives. I know the person that is overcome by sin can be made pure and clean. I know this to be true.

It strikes me that we can "hold out" and be "faithful to the end". Keep holding on! Always try even longer and endure to the end.

  7. Matthew 18:21–22
“Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.”

“If we exercise faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the enabling power of His Atonement strengthens us in our moment of need. … This brings hope to all, especially to those who feel that recurring human weakness is beyond the Savior’s willingness to help and to save. … The Lord loves us and wants us to understand His willingness to forgive.”

    —Elder Craig A. Cardon

  8. 1 Timothy 6:12
“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.”

“You are a child of God. You have a loving Heavenly Father who hears and answers your prayers. He wants you to be worthy to return and live with Him someday. Knowing this can help you plan for your earthly and eternal future with a brightness of hope. As you look to the future, look far beyond tomorrow.” —Sister Coleen K. Menlove

Today I read during my come follow me study this verse in the Doctrine & Covenants.
"He that is faithful and endureth shall overcome the world." D&C 63:47

I couldnt help but think that the 'world' referred to the temptations and evil influences within it. It also impressed me that the way to which we overcome the world is by faith (doing all we can and trusting in God to make up the difference) and endurance (patience and continuance despite our suffering). The word endure reminded me of a quote by Hyrum Smith (not THE Hyrum Smith but rather another) that "results take time to measure".

Recently, I started some new habits in my life which I hope will help me aid in getting my life under control and ultimately result in freedom from this plague. It was a helpful reminder that I needed to continue and allow for time to produce the fruit for which I yearn.

Anyway, I just felt inspired to share this verse here and hope that others feel touched as I did. Good luck to everyone else, and may God and His angels be with each one of us.

Our dear Prophet spoke to all of us who have the challenge of removing/overcoming porn etc from our lives:
"The Lord understands our mortal weakness. We all falter at times. But He also knows of our great potential. The mustard seed starts small but grows into a tree large enough for birds to nest in its branches. The mustard seed represents a small but growing faith.

The Lord does not require perfect faith for us to have access to His perfect power. But He does ask us to believe.

My dear brothers and sisters, my call to you this Easter morning is to start today to increase your faith. Through your faith, Jesus Christ will increase your ability to move the mountains in your life, even though your personal challenges may loom as large as Mount Everest.

  12. And He will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities. Alma 7:12

"God’s love for you is endless. He will love you forever. Maybe you have reached the point where you feel like no one could really love you if they knew the “real” you. Maybe you feel like you don’t deserve help from anyone and that you don’t qualify for God’s mercy. Many other people have struggled with these same issues. Their message: you are not alone, and it’s possible to change the way you see yourself. It can be easy to get caught up in a cycle of using pornography and shaming yourself. However, you are a son or daughter of God, and you have infinite worth. You’re never beyond the help of Jesus Christ and His Atonement. When you make mistakes, it doesn’t mean that you are a bad person. As Elder Dale G. Renlund taught, God cares a lot more about who we are becoming than about the mistakes we have made."

  13. The Savior, as a caring friend, said to Peter, who had recently come to follow the Savior, “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: “But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren” (Luke 22:31–32).

  14. Truman G. Madsen made this comforting observation (Christ and the Inner Light, 1978):

“If there are some of you who have been tricked into the conviction that you have gone too far, … that you have had the poison of sin which makes it impossible ever again to be what you could have been—then hear me.

“I bear testimony that you cannot sink farther than the light and sweeping intelligence of Jesus Christ can reach. I bear testimony that as long as there is one spark of the will to repent and to reach, He is there. He did not just descend to your condition; he descended below it, ‘that he might be in all and through all things, the light of truth.’”

    Doctrine and Covenants 88:6
‘He that ascended up on high, as also he descended below all things, in that he comprehended all things, that he might be in all and through all things, the light of truth.’
