Hi, Im Troy. I'm 24 years old. I have been dealing with the addiciton of P&M since I was very young, age 8 or 9 I believe. At the beginning, it started with internet popups as early as I can remember. After that, It let to watching PG-13 movies with ever so slight sexual scenes/nudity, and I couldn't get enough of that, so I moved on to rated R titles with a little more "umph" in the content that I started to crave. From there on into junior high and later, it has been on and off with internet porn. Details of the fetishes don't really matter. What matters is since I first started those many years ago, I have been hooked so long and so steadily, that P&M has been such a part of my life just as every other day to day things have. I am here because I am desperate for change, desperate to overcome, desperate to dominate over the bondage of porn and the eventual repercussions they will produce in a man's life. I am here because I need accountability, plain and simple. And I will not stop, until I can overcome this, period. Permanently. So to all who read this, its nice to know Im not alone, and to know there are others who want to overcome this addiction as well. I am looking forward to getting to know some of you and to eventually totally rise above this constant and poisonous struggle, together.

I also want to thank my friend Mitch, who sent me a link that brought me to Nofap. If it wasn't for you Mitch, I might not have seen this and hungered for another chance to really change.

The good news: your problem is one I and many of us here share. It can be overcome. I have beaten it. Porn free/PMO free for almost 6 months. I am never going back. It will not be easy, but if you understand that, it helps. I go days now without ever thinking of porn. You have a lot to learn, so start your education. Understand your problem, that is key to beating it. You will have to give up porn completely to beat the addiction. There is no way to keep porn in your life and beat the addiction, so it has to go.

Get a tool. Go to nofap.org In the tips section is a link to download K9. Use it.

    Good luck on your journey.

    Hi Troy,

Welcome ! Don't worry, I can tell you that you are not the only one.
Imagining living without PMO must seem hard, as you have been living with it since you were a child. Age 8 is very early ! But it's perfectly understandable : personnally I'd have been compelled by popups too if I had the Internet back then.

Have you ever tried to stop before ? You may know that getting rid of this addiction can seem very hard the first days. But don't give in. Train yourself to resist. The more you resist your want to PMO, the easier it will get over time. At one point, you'll eventually stop thinking about PMO (about 30 days). Think about it, and how your mind will be freed from sadness and desperation.

While you may look at it as a difficult task, you will have to stop PMO one day. So it's better that this day is now. So that in 2015, when you look back, you will tell yourself that it has been the bright year that changed your habits and life forever.

    Good luck.

Thanks William, I have already been immersed all day into educating myself on the matter, raising my personal awareness and even reversing my desires for porn. Now just to stick with it forever!

Je m'abstiens, I have indeed tried to stop many times in the past with no true and enduring success. But I say here I am desperate to the point of permanent change and since joining I have already established an accountability partner that lives in my area. I know I can do this, and will. Thanks for the encouragement, and will keep my progress posted, as I also have a new counter in the sig. Thanks again for support.
