  1. Hi all, I really admire you all for what you've done and are doing. here's a brief account of my own situation and why I'm on nofap: I never had a girlfriend at school, but why did that matter when I could have as many pornstars as there were minutes in the night? I watched porn for years as a teenager. It became perfectly normal to watch it day after day. And then, sometime after school, I met my current girlfriend. The months leading up to our 'going out' were so exciting that I forgot all about porn. I went for about six months without porn in the beginning of our relationship. Intimacy at first was hard and I became familiar with the sense of embarrassment at being flaccid, unable to 'perform'. But after a while, and much patience from my partner, sex became a daily pleasure. I could think more clearly than I ever had, felt more confident and sociable. And then... I watched porn again. I wish I could take back that moment. Since then I've been fighting it, going through periods without it (a few days, sometimes a week) but always coming back to it. I've tried blockers and passwords on the computer and phone, but they never last long. I'm in a loop of trying, relapsing, trying, relapsing. The worst feeling is for my girlfriend who deserves love and attention, but my desire and attention are wasting away on pornsites. I feel awful and guilty. And still I go back to it, for no reason whatever. It's a addiction that I'm trying to break and that's why i'm here, to try to quit porn/masturbating once and for all. Any help and support would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to NoFap where you are amongst friends who are here to encourage you and sometimes challenge you but not judge you.

What are your current strategies for combating the enemy called PMO?

  3. Thanks for the welcome! My strategies at the moment are to occupy myself with things away from screens, trying more reading, going for walks, exercising. One of the problems I had is the smartphone -- PMO is always in reach with that. I know that when I'm bored or tired, it can be a dangerous time for me, so need to watch those hours.

What strategies have you found useful in past??
