When it comes to temptations I find I often fantasise or remember porn scenes. This surely can’t be helping the healing of the brain, or is it part of the healing process?

Right now I’m having a difficult time in my mind as I try and give up porn. I went 8 days, now on day 4 again, but it’s becoming insidious and so tempting. I’ve tried MO, but I fear that’s just strengthening the addiction as I usually just picture the P in my mind, almost the same as just watching it

    Yes, it's porn-lite.

It's to be expected in the early stages of reboot though, just try and divert your thoughts as best you can.

Thank you, I did actually flatline from day 4, and relapsed on day 8 on purpose to check there was still life down there, now I know what was up.

Would you say fantasising about real people and normal sex is much healthier?

Yes it is. It is almost as harmful as porn.
It is normal to have those thoughts since we've get our mind used to those scenes, and because our mind is wanting the pleasure from those images. But don't linger or dwell on them, let them fade away, ignore them, they have the power you give them.

Living is better. But give some time to yourself, time to clean your mind.

Thanks mate, it has become a substitute and I’m glad to clear up early on that it’s no good, hopefully over time the fantasies become about real people and normal things

I am experiencing this as well, remembering scenes that I M'd to in the past. I haven't looked at any P for the last 8 days now, and I keep seeing those scenes pop up in my mind, along with images and such that I saved over the years. I try to focus on other things, but it is getting tough

yes try to be mindful... is it the kind of thought that you want to have? the journey is long so you'll have time to think that through. it does come back in my brain often but it's has been better, it will take weeks or months (maybe more) i think can't say how long...

I dont think it s bad ,it s like you imagine a hamburger for a moment, what s important is you dont let these thoughts make you click on a porn site to watch it

The problem is not imagining, but what those thoughts make on your mind.
Imaginig is watching, but in the screen of your mind.

This is definitely part of the reboot process. At one stage whenever I closed my eyes I fantasized or saw scenarios and pictures all the time, so much so that I got really frustrated with myself. It's part of the healing process, abstain from MO for as long as you can.
