Is hard mode really necessary? What about dating girls?

    Hi nofappers.

I wanted to get some opinions.

I gave up watching porn a few weeks ago and haven't fapped since. There have been some good effects from this that I have noticed, including increased energy/ strength and feeling less depressed.

I was texted last week though from a girl who basically offered sex and I obliged- although i took a pill to make sure I didn't get ED. Didn't feel too good about myself after- i didn't really fancy her.

Then the other day I had a date with a girl I have liked for some time and it went really well in that she started getting all horny and basically wanted to get down to it in the car.

In a way it was the perfect outcome- she's beautiful, but there wasn't much response down below. In fact I felt a bit embarrassed because her hand kept wandering in that direction and i was subtly dissuading her from having a grope because nothing was happening.

When the date was over I went home and engaged in a bit of edging- to see if it was still working! It was-perfectly well- but it didn't when I wanted it to. ( I haven't reset my counter because I didn't come)

Now i feel really low and depressed because I feel like it has messed up my chances of getting with a girl I have liked for ages. I don't want to have to take pills every time i am with a girl - in case she wants sex. I want things to go back to how they were. I used to have a very big sex drive before the porn addiction robbed me of it.

    Any thoughts would be welcome.

  2. Keep going. Brains of young adults take about 6 months (source: yourbrainonporn.com) to recover fully from porn-induced ed, but you can speed it up by hanging out with girls.

    good luck

Depends on what you want to do. I am doing the same thing as you where I'm not fapping but I'm still having sex with girls. I don't why you got into NoFap, but it wouldn't really make sense being celibate. The first commandment God gave to humans was to multiply, fapping is something that prevents us from doing that. You do you though.

Cheers fellas, having looked at the yourbrainporn website and looking at the science on porn induced ed, it seems that my eagerness to date this girl was not a good idea.
The ed issue is real and it is without doubt linked to porn because when I use my imagination and self stimulation there is no issue . The dysfunction arises with a real life girl because my brain has become sensitised to images and fantasy related to those images.

As I have only gone 3 weeks without it, my brain has not had enough chance to reboot and therefore my penis is not getting the signals from the brain in the real life situations with a girl like it used to.

The reward pathway is still too associated with more extreme porn imagery.

Interestingly, this ED problem has only become really obvious to me in the last 5 years which loosely correlates with me getting a laptop and broadband.

Getting ED makes me feel like crap and may have even ruined my chances with this girl who might just think I can't perform and move on to one who can.

That makes me sad but it has served as a lesson. There is no point dating girls until I know everything is back to normal.

More and more each day it dawns on me just how evil porn is and I can't believe I'm only just realising it now !!
