I've been a heavy porn user since I was young. I'm 20 now, and while I've been able to cut back on my porn use in recent months, it really skyrocketed last year. It's seriously warped my sexuality.

Is it possible to fully reset my brain & sexual desires back to what they should be, had porn not had such a powerful grasp? I'm concerned that the heavy use of porn for such an extended period of time has really messed things up.

At what age did you start using porn and wanking?

I was in early middle school. Started getting intense at about 15. Skyrocketed when I was 18-19.

Hey @JackMack, the word "reset" is used rather loosely. If you break away from porn and do NoFap for a good amount of time, you will find yourself becoming more attracted to what you're naturally attracted to inside.

Can you fully reset your brain? No, you'll always remember how things were when you watched porn, but it will be a memory and not have any pull on you anymore. You will be glad you've left it in the past.

I guess what I'm getting at is whether or not it's possible to reboot to the point where I can have a regular relationship with a girl.

Okay...Yes it is possible for any addict to fully reset their messed up brain, but I'm sure you know it takes time and using the right skills and mechanisms to recover the damaged brain. Things like exercise, learning new habits, etc. can help recover the brain damage caused by PMO. There is hope, most definitely. In your case you've done this act for 5 years so you can bounce back fairly rapidly.

I don't know you're specific circumstances but the answer is yes, if that is what you truly desired before porn warped your sexuality.
