Is it possible to quit porn without blockers?

Hi, i am going through a bit of a binge phase(major understatement). This is mostly because earlier i was dependent on my blockers to help me but now, unfortunately i have found a way to bypass them, both on phone and computer.

I have had long streaks without blockers before but at that time i think i wasn't as much into porn as i have gotten now. I realize that blockers are supposed to be like "last line of defense".

I just want to know if anybody, who was really deep into porn managed to quit it without using blockers?

Has anyone who did have unpassable blockers managed to heal from their porn addiction?

I don't know if I'd classify myself as healed, but after 70 + days (and trying to quit since July '15, with a few good streaks in there), and using zero blockers period, it's extremely possible, you just have to find the willpower to say no. At first it was difficult, with relapses every few days, but I've found it's better this way because I have to garner the strength within to not search out that content, instead of relied on something else to stop me from seeing it. You can't have someone standing over the top of you yelling at you and slapping that piece of cake out of your hand, so why rely on something for this addiction?

I understand for those deeply addicted, but to me it's better to quit this way because I become stronger by not searching out what I used to. There was one site in particular that would do daily updates every night, so it became routine for me to check that site every morning for at least 2-3 years if not longer. The feeling I get from having the willpower to not do that anymore is pretty amazing, and the only thing stopping me from doing so was myself. I can search it out right now if I wanted to, but I've built up enough willpower and disgust with porn that I won't. That feeling is priceless.

This is exactly why I don't like the idea of a blocker, because if you are that addicted that you need something to prevent you from searching out porn, there is a possibility you will find a way to get around it, go to a computer that doesn't have it on it, find p-subs that replace the porn, go to dvd's, etc, etc...

No blocker is intentionaly unpassable. Most of the time, if you want to bypass them, its just one or two klicks away and you can disable them.
On the other hand unintentionally unpassable blockers should exist. But not every blocker is as good as an other. That is because a lot of the blockers are based on a list of either server or IP adresses. If those are not up to date, then something can slip through the blocker.

Personally I do not use a blocker. But I am also not so long into a reboot. I will see if i need one later. And that for the same reason i did carry around a pack of cigarettes when i was quitting to smoke them. I told myself: "You have to have the devil always beside you, so you can deal with it." Just like: Keep your friends close, but your foes closer.
I just want to do it with my own willpower before I use some tools to help me.

All you need is will power. If you are still searching, then deep down inside you do not want to quit.

Where there is a will there is a way

Avoid sitting at your computer all day, and start socializing.

I don't use blockers. My choice not to view porn.

I also choose to avoid all p-subs. I choose not to objectify.
I still have a little issue sometimes when I eyeball a nice lady at the mall, so I work on that.

Exactly this. My problem is the gym ladies. I would like to stop seeking arousal altogether.

I also have a slight issue with gym ladies. I know it, so I force myself to look the other way. With the warmer weather coming, and fashion these days, every ladies I see are wearing leggings...I really have to work hard to sanitize my thoughts..

I use blockers, but I use them a bit differently.

I accept if I am really determined I can always find porn or psubs. They're never going to block everything.

What I have done is to configure things so that my web browsing is disrupted enough such that I don't get into the state where I want to watch porn or psubs.

No porn or psub relapse happens in isolation.

This is so true. If your addicted brain really wants it and starts rationalizing with you, you will find porn and you will relapse.

Ive used porn blockers in the past and from my experience it is a temporary solution to a long term problem. Because porn is available in so many forms even if you block it on the computer if you are determined you will find it somewhere else. The key for me is to only use the computer when someone else such as my wife is around to see what im doing. Other than that I know that I need to be determined to stop and not rely on blockers because I can always get around them.

    Simple.
I realized that I'm smart enough to outsmart any porn blocker so I set my mind to be the biggest porn blocker ever.
In other words, I abstained from looking at porn.
    Not for testing myself.
    Not for curiosity.
    Not for science.
    Just did not do it.

Almost cracked my head against that rule, a couple of days ago, but still, I stayed on board with the NoFap thing.
Basically, your mind can be a powerful tool.
Or the greatest deceiver you have ever encountered.

    Your choice.

Yes. Blockers are forcing your hand (excuse the pun) into building up sobriety. Same with accountability software. I nearly went down that route as a short term measure but what do you think my brain will think once we remove them?

    PARTY TIME!

I will find material regardless. Something on TV. Fantasy or recall from the past. Buying a magazine from a shop. Purchasing a cheap tablet just to watch porn on.

Staying off it is the best thing ever but it's getting that initial period out of the way and building up a realisation that life is better without

I think installing a porn blocker in your head is much more effective. I tried to use porn blockers just to distrupt my browsing, but it didn't work, so I stopped using them. Rather I decided not to give in to temptation, and that has worked pretty well for the last year or so.
