I’m having a particularly bad week and just... is this really possible? Is it really possible to change your behavior?

Haha, love it. Yes @Ambrose it is absolutely possible and other guys are doing their best on here every day as well. So the work you put in is worth it.
I know what it feels like when things seem too frustrating and like we are powerless, but your brain can change, you can learn new techniques, new skills, new mindsets and keep at it. It's one of our greatest strengths as humans to learn, grow, overcome and adapt ;-)

    Grow strong man!

  8. If you're having a hard week then you need to increase your effort to the maximum. You need to be stronger than the addiction in order for this process to work. I assure you, when you get through the difficult parts, you will come out the other side a better person.

I can't say what's true for other people I often skip up and find myself doing so and invariably I suffer from it so I'm reminding myself this is only my experience. My experience is that it is possible to live in changed behavior. I haven't had to use pm+ since 3/12/13, and there are other things that caused me suffering that have seen major changes. It seems to have a lot to do with internal shifts, such as in ones attitudes (giving up prejudices like misogyny that was a big one for me, and giving up pride).
