Hi, I'm a 17 year old male from Georgia, U.S. Recently i started NoFap and its been really frustrating. I read the stories and watch the videos about what NoFap has done for them and i noticed I'm not really in the place of most fapstronauts. I before i stopped i fapping didn't get interfere with my sex life( 17.. virgin) i wasn't afraid to talk to girls, I didn't see women as sex objects, and I don't have a lack of energy. Mabey it's just because its only day 4 for me but what exactly does everyone get from NoFap besides sexual frustration because i need a reason to continue.

I'm new on my nofap journey. But as someone who was once 17, let me tell you that I would have thought the same thing. In fact, for over a decade I never had any of these major issues usually associated with NoFap. However, now I'm 31 and I find myself with copulatory ED, finding my wife sexy but unable to fully perform if I don't imagine porn or past sexual encounters. I find PMO better than sex because of the quick dopamine hit. I find myself going to harder and weirder porn, even though I find none of those things interesting or sexy when I'm not being stimulated by porn. In short, you may not have issues now, but the science shows there is the potential to develop those issues eventually. When you read about the science behind pornography and how it affects our brains, such as the info offered on YourBrainOnPorn.com, you see how your brain can eventual be rewired to make "normal" things uninteresting, and lead you down a trail of addiction, shame, weirdness, humiliation, depression, etc.

The one thing I would consider is what brought you here. It had to be something. Not everyone who comes here does so because they can't get wood. People come here for a myriad of reasons. Identify your reason, read/watch the info on YBOP, and decide if it's something you need. The one thing to keep in mind is that like any addiction, you won't be able to fight and overcome it until you're really ready to do so. Whether you're ready to commit to fight and overcome your problems yet, good luck!

Hi! Have you had a proper look on the main forums? Get stuck in and see what grabs your attention- help and be helped just by making an honest contribution. Try be more proactive and your enthusiasm and understanding will gather momentum.

I quit heavy drinking, cigarettes, and cannabis on the same day in 2008 after 25 years of use and abuse and haven't touched any of them since and now I'm doing the same with this.

I don't say that to brag (25 years of use and abuse is nothing to bragabout!) I say it to encourage and to offer hope.

Just in case your interested I've put the three main resources I used to help me break that cycle (and whose principles I continue to use) in my signature below. I can't recommend them enough but this is your journey, these are only suggestions. You will get plenty of other equally valid advice as there's a very healthy balance of perspectives on this site and together we are making a meaningful, positive, lasting difference which I for one am thrilled to be part of.

But your going to have to pick yourself up mate and find out for yourself. As John Lennon once said in the song 'I found out' ...

'Some of you sit there with your cock in your hand, don't get you nowhere, don't make you a man"...!

Harsh words I know but your on the right track so stay strong...and keep going ;)...http://www.nofap.org/forum/showthread.php?2660-Keep-going&p=15194#post15194

Well after you fap, you don't feel tired ?
If you fap enough you become much more tired generally.
It can be that by holding NoFap, you might discover you have much much more energy than you thought.

In my opinion, NoFap WILL get you insanely frustrated. In my opinion there is no chance to do NoFap unless you have sex life and in this way you can remove part of the frustration.
Generally, you accumulate sexual energy. This makes the frustration, so its either you

    1. masturbate, with porn or without porn, ejaculation makes your energy go out.
    2. have sex, many guys here can hold NoFap mostly because of having sex..again, ejaculation drain your energy out.
    3. use your energy like insane..i mean, you can do stuff get tons of hobbies..this makes you busy and waste part of the energy the you accumulate...remove part of the frustration. But basically you are like neurotic rabbit who cannot relax.
    4. do yoga, sublimate sexual energy. practice tantra while having sex (so you don't ejaculate). This is the easy way to remove frustration and keep the energy high. Instead of accumulating it in your balls, you move the energy in your body..this way you keep the energy and also not horny as hell (hence the frustration)

When you are a teenager, you have MUCH MUCH more sexual energy..much more than usual adult. So you might not feel huge effect on your life if you fap once in while. If you fap a lot, this will anyway drain your energy. I had many hormone problems, acne on face..and this is mostly because of fapping. At that time, i couldn't stop even though i tried many times. I didn't have the knowledge i have today (regarding number 4 i wrote)

    Kieran:

If you do go back to fapping, just make sure you've learned the lesson that so many of us wish we could have learned at 17. If you're going to masturbate, stay away from porn!

And don't fall into the trap of masturbating daily thinking, it's normal, everyone is doing it.

Just like with alcohol, food, etc. Moderation is key.
