I used to fap without porn and I ended up going overboard with that. So I personally consider fapping without porn bad. Porn certainly makes fapping worse but fapping itself is not too good either, at least that's what I think.
To the original question, I guess it is bad? I've watched hentai just for the plot without fapping (even though the plot isn't really worth watching). But I haven't done that with normal porn. I guess it is bad. Porn is apparently linked to all sorts of trafficking stuff and other horrible things so watching porn without masturbating may not have any direct negative effects on you (or it might idk) but it could promote those horrible activities.

I suggest you watch movies or anime or something else you like because it's a better way to spend time than watching porn.

 

That's true. Impacts on physical health are caused by masturbation. It affects our mental health too. I don't think porn causes physical damage but it could affect your brain i.e. the way you think and perceive things.

Let me ask you. If you came upon you son at age 11 masturbating in the bathroom or looking at hard core porn on the internet which would concern you more. He could masturbate for the rest of his life. (I still do and I’m 71) or continue going down the rabbit hole of pornography where things have degenerated unbelievably. Honestly, I see where you're coming from, I really do. I also think that masturbation alone can do much more harm than porn alone. However, imagine a 12 year old watching gangbang scenes, r*pe scenes, incest scenes. Even if he doesn't fap, his mind will still be warped by these disgusting scenarios. His perception of sex will be all wrong. What about the people who watch gay and trans scenes and grow up without really understanding their sexuality?

MO is the part that messes with your brain chemistry, it's what makes PMO addictive. However, P is the thing that messes with the way you think and perceive women. It's not harmless, even by itself.

I agree with Star above saying that masturbation is a problem. I would just add that it’s true the Bible does not specifically ban many things but through a thorough reading of it, one gains an understanding of the kind of purity, and righteousness the Christian is encouraged to pursue, and I can’t believe that porn exemplifies such a lifestyle. Of course that’s up to you and what you believe. However I believe most believers, and even non believers I’ve spoken to.. will hold that porn has no value and is an inherent waste of time and morally degrading.
