    so the solution to mankind is a doctrine of evil as started by a pedophile who raped a nine year old girl called aisha who he married at six and who murdered thousands in a bloody conquest. Islam is a cancer and the cause of 99% of the worlds problems. Christianity may have some violent verses but Jesus never kept slaves and slaughtered people.

    The fact that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) married ‘Aisha when she was nine years old is nothing strange. It is well-known that the age at which girls reach puberty varies according to race and environment. In hot regions girls reach puberty earlier, whereas in cold polar regions puberty may be delayed until the age of twenty-one years.

So islam isn't causing all the world problems? so tell me what religion are all these terrorists following? islam. Look at isis, following the qu'ran to a T and you tell me islam isn't causing this shit? i know how islam works, the peaceful earlier verses are superseded by the newer verses so good old Muhammad when he couldn't preach violence had to preach peace but when his following grew mr nice guy turned into a seriel murdering warlord and the verses follow.     Man I hate it when people get down on Islam. Learn about the religion first before you try to condemn it. Most of Muhammad's wars were defensive... he was protecting the people, who were mostly poor, from the rich pagan merchants who were trying to destroy Muhammad's movement. After that the so called violence of the caliphs who spread the faith was actually fueled mostly by voluntary conversion. And when they conquered a land, they didn't forcefully convert people, as is the myth. "There is no compulsion in religion," the Quran says. Christians and Jews under majority Muslim rule were allowed ot keep their religion if they paid a tax and were treated a lot better than Christians treated Jews during the same time.

    Anyways, Christ told us to love our neighbors, and your not showing love to your Muslims neighbors by spouting such venom against their religion.

    And they have every right to be. But the correct solution would be not allowing any more muslims in the country and such. Your politicians are to blame, not Islam.

    I'll go one further: Terrorism isn't causing all the problems in the world!
    Compare the deaths caused by terrorism to the deaths caused by the "war on terror". Or less extreme things, like the deaths caused by prescribed drugs, car accidents, ...

    Then, many "terrorists" might just as well be called "rebels" or "resistance fighters", and are by other sides. Watch "Dirty Wars" and you may get an idea where many "terrorists" come from.

    i agreed on carrot, this needs to stop, if islam was the solution and not some mantra to feed to brainwashed people, the middle east would be a lot better for the people who live there, but its not

    Yes (no overt insults) but the way some people are talking about religion as inherently evil and the cause of the world's problems and Muhammad as a tyrannical murderer... that's insulting even if you don't mean it that way. People are really sensitive about their religion, and people who disagree with them should be more respectful.

    Not saying that people like atheists shouldn't be allowed to criticize religion... they just need to be more intelligent and respectful about it and quit using straw men, slippery slopes and other logical fallacies. Give me a good intelligent atheist any day, someone like Nietzsche, and I'd relish our debate, instead of being frustrated having to wade through a bunch of specious arguments that wouldn't hold up in a freshman logic course.

    The same, of course, is true for Christians who disagree with Islam. LEARN ABOUT THE RELIGION FIRST BEFORE YOU OPEN YOUR MOUTH!
