Issues with anger

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Deleted Account, Nov 13, 2019.

  1. I have tried NoFap before in the past, but failed to keep it up after, I think almost a month, mainly due to I think, loneliness, boredom, and anger.

The loneliness and boredom is nothing new, and it may have been a major reason for me getting addicted to porn in the first place, but I remember how during the first week, I felt like I could get angry really easily.

The cliche but true reason was probably that actively resisting the habit made me aware of what it really was, which in turn made me aware of how much of a void there is in my life, and how isolated I was, and the frustration that came with that made things worse.

I remember I spent half an hour in my room, blasting Christian Metal into my ears, pacing back and forth and doing push-ups just to try not to think about it.

But I eventually stopped because, at least at the time, I often struggled to control my anger, and it would cause problems for me and my family, so I eventually relapsed.

What do some of y'all do to cope with anger?

I had the same issue as you. First when I got angry I watched porn and relapsed. Of course I regretted it. Then I moved on to whenever I got angry I ate whatever I could find (that did not work out well with my health). The key is to direct it somehow. For example try to do some push ups when you get angry and drive it towards there. Something else to do it to take deep breaths until you calm down. It might be frustrating but after some times you'll be able to do it with much more ease

Hello my friend, I know this too. What helps me the most to handle my anger is to go to the gym and work my butt off. I leave all the anger and frustration in the gym. Hope this will help you too. Keep fighting. I wish you the best.
