    Hello everyone,

I would like to share with you a recent epiphany I had, which benefited me in life.

Getting disturbing thoughts is part of our character and stems from the patterns in which we have thought in the past. So, it is natural to have some emotional weight attached to some thoughts which I suppose is to save energy, since the brain is a very efficient organ.

Hence, feeling horny, anger, irritation or even fear when you get an urge is fine. Just tell yourself that very moment "It is but a harmless thought". Repeat it over and focus back on your work.

Thoughts are really harmless things. Our reaction to them greatly determines whether or not they will have power over us or not.

Pre-conditioning your mind is important for this to work. It will give you reason to fight. If you have been masturbating for a long period and likely failed at attempts to stop it, it is a sign of lack of satisfaction in life. But the nature of life is like that. There will be both good and bad periods and we don't know for how long. So if you are facing a bad period in life, remember that running away from it will make it worse in the future. Keep doing your work and tell yourself that life is long and it will pass and you need not masturbate to run after for a few minutes and set up a downward spiral to more depression. Your motive is to live life. If disturbing thoughts prevail, remember they are harmless.

Remember, the cues may be out there but the urge is in your head and as long as you don't act on it you have not relapsed.

I also find it useful to remember that everyone has it.
Everyone has urges, everyone has bad thoughts. You are not abnormal. There are people to support you.
If they can beat it, so can I.
