I am now on a new streak of 52 days free. But it is becoming really hard to resist the urge again, I don't know why, but I have been unable to control myself and feel like I may ruin yet another streak.

It's a huge mental battle that I want to win but is getting very hard to the more and more I am left alone and the availability of the internet does not make it any easier.

I would appreciate if anyone could post how they get through these times and what keeps them going. I have had a failed streak of 231 days and you would think I would have learned my lesson, but it seems like I may fall back to my old habits as much as I may not want to.

  2. I went from pretty much never to pretty much always. I'm still fairly early in my current streak, so I may not be an expert, but I just force myself up and go accomplish something when I get this way. Chores, walk, gym, etc. Sometimes I just walk to the mall and just walk around. It sucks, but there is a silver lining to this because it's forcing me to take back my life.

Feeling sexually charged and then letting your mind wonder / fantasize is what always got me in the past.

The other thing that I haven't seen talked about on here too much, but which I feel is vital, is to never stop your life progress. So you're at 50+ days, have you put anything else on your plate? Working out, keeping the house cleaner, meditation, helping others, improving relationships, reading more books, acquiring a new skill -- what else do you want to accomplish in life that you're not doing a good job working towards? If we aren't going forwards, we slide backwards. This is a bit of "if your hand hurts, smash your toe" type deal. Fight your urges by improving your life in other areas.
