    Hi,
I'm 29 years old and I have had a porn addiction since I was a teenager. Over time as an adult this has developed into a sex addiction. It has had a severe impact on my life and I started to realize that years ago.

I have had periods where I have fought it successfully but have eventually always lost. Those periods were the healthiest happiest times in my life. Everything else in my life is squared away. I have great job, I'm organized, athletic, I have interests but porn and sexual addiction is destroying the man I know I could be. This has become painfully clear the last couple years.

A couple months ago I transferred jobs and moved to a new city. Its something that I did for me because I needed to. It was the perfect opportunity to start new and become the man I knew I could be but the loneliness and difficulty of started over pushed me into a sexual reliance that is as deep as I have ever been.

Enough is enough. this is destroying my social life and my mental and physical health. Its time to rise above this. From this point out I will not watch porn or masterbate. I will recover from my sexual addiction and be the man I know I need to be.

This being said, I know how difficult this fight will be and any support, advice, trick or tips are appreciated. I plan on leaning towards this community consistently.

thanks for reading and here we go.

No and to be honest I don’t think there is anyone in my life I’d feel comfortable sharing it with. That’s kind of why I’m using this community. I obviously need support but I couldn’t expose this giant shame to anyone.

  7. Welcome to the forum. There's no shame here. A lot of guilt though, as you can imagine. You're off to a great start but it's a struggle for everyone. Keeping up the struggle is what will make you succeed. Be sure to post and share your thoughts, as well as check in with a few of your peers. And don't let your shame or guilt weigh you down too much.

    I see.. The right community..
Okay, got it.. It gonna take time but I hope you will be able to share it with your beloved ones someday.. I mean, isnt like mandatory but that was the first thing that actually helped me to start my recovery... Of course that worked for me but hey, we all work different, right?

    Nice words @wishdasher
