  1. Thanks but just focus on yourself buddy.

This is a one man job here, extend your supportive words outside of this thread :).

Backrubbing ain't gonna get you anywhere in this thread.

Btw, what is this Chinese 'NoFap' site called if I may ask?

  2. I'm sorry if anyone had the wrong idea here.

When I said feel free to participate, I should have been much more clear with what I meant by that.

I love how supportive people are here, the user D.J. comes to mind, always trying to help other users and being incredibly active posting in journals.

That's great. If sitting in a circle holding hands singing Kumbaya with each other works for ya then work it.

This isn't a Kumbaya circle thread.

This is a what is buried inside your consciousness thread, what truths can you unveil for us here without stroking each other's egos, what selfless insights do you have to share for us all to further our own progress in?

Think of this as a 'Spiritual Fight Club', we battle our own minds and weaknesses, and only ourselves alone can do the necessary work required to achieve an elevated life. If you want to share struggles, go for it. But don't expect a backrub here. And please don't come in here trying to pamper someone. Don't misinterpret what I'm saying here.

  3. Did You Know?
Zeno of Citium, born in Cyprus in the 4th century B.C.E., traveled to Athens while a young man and studied with the important philosophers of the day, among them two influential Cynics. He eventually arrived at his own philosophy and began teaching at a public hall called the Stoa Poikile. Zeno's philosophy, Stoicism, took its name from the hall where he taught, and it preached self-control, fortitude, and justice; passion was seen as the cause of all evil. By the 14th century, English speakers had adopted the word stoic as a general term for anyone who could face adversity calmly and without excess emotion. By the 15th century, we'd also begun using it as an adjective meaning "not affected by or showing passion or feeling."

  5. Self Improvement Update:

Well I had the cojones to just about upload an actual photo of myself hahah as an avatar, but then pondered how egotistical would that be?

Good to know the mojo is strong enough to have the balls to just about do that though, but the Gandhi quote above stopped me.

Can't promise it won't happen in the future as the mojo spikes.

  6. I'm about to start a conscious/esoteric/awakening music thread or something not even sure what to title it yet.

There's so much next level energy we should all be tapping into mainly with these hip hop artists who have such spiritually awakening and conscious lyrics.

  7. Alright starting this next level music thread now in Off Topic, lol it should really be considered Self Improvement but Off Topic it must be.

  8. Exert yourself ceaselessly in decreasing evil and accumulating good.

    January Fourteenth.

VICTORY of all kinds is preceded by a season of preparation. It can no more appear spontaneously and erratically than can a flower or a mountain. Like them, it is the culminating point in a process of growth, in a series of causes and effects. No mere wishing, no magic word, will produce worldly success ; it must be achieved by an orderly succession of well-directed efforts. No spiritual victory will be achieved by him who imagines that it does not begin until the hour of temptation arrives. All spiritual triumphs are gained in the silent hour of meditation, and through a series of successes in lesser trials. The time of great temptation is the climax of a conquest that long preparation has made certain and complete.

Fix your minds on the practice of virtue, and the comprehension and application of fixed and noble principles.

    Fourteenth Morning

In speaking of self-control, one is easily
misunderstood. It should not be associated
with a destructive repression, but with a
    constructive expression.

A man is happy, wise and great in the
measure that he controls himself; he is
wretched, foolish, and mean in the
measure that he allows his animal nature
to dominate his thoughts and actions.

He who controls himself, controls his
life, his circumstances, his destiny; and
wherever he goes he carries his happiness
with him as an abiding possession.

    Renunciation precedes regeneration.
    The permanent happiness which men
    seek in dissipation, excitement, and
    abandonment to unworthy pleasures,
is found only in the life which reverses
    all this-the life of self-control.

    Fourteenth Evening

Law, not confusion, is the dominating
principle in the universe; justice, not
    injustice is the soul and substance of life;
and righteousness, not corruption, is the
moulding and moving force in the spiritual
government of the world. This being so,
man has but the right himself to find that
    the universe is right.

    When I am pure,
    I shall have solved the mystery of life;
    I shall be sure,
When I am free from hatred, lust and
    strife,
    I am in Truth, and Truth abides in me;
I shall be safe, and sane, and wholly free,
    When I am pure.

  9. Support is a funny word.

Means different things to different people.

It's important in recovery from fapping and porn for sure as it is in LIFE. But people have entirely different ideas of what support looks like. For some it's constant encouragement from others.

When I said we need support here, that's not what I'm referring to. The kind of support a participant or seeker who visits this thread needs is to be surrouned by like minded people in their lives. To be surrounded by people on the same path of self improvement. This alone is encouragement in a far greater sense than some pampering words may be.

  10. Alright last secular material before transitioning to the next subject material which will complement the James Allen passages excellently and perhaps offer new knowledge or insight to aid a seeker or someone of faith.

Robot Chicken is about as secular of content as secular comes:

  11. Early Christianity is our next topic.

Mainly Gnostic and Celtic Christianity but no strict rules are being set as to what can be discussed.

The original teachings of Jesus before the Romans tried to destroy them to capitalize upon Christianity when they altered the truth and formed the Roman Catholic Church.

  12. Due to recent content in this vicinity here is a PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

MAN UP OR SHIP OUT SOLDIERS.

  13. I just OD'd on wisdom with these quotes from Facebook:

'The shoe that fits one person pinches another; there is no recipe for living that suits all cases.' —Carl Jung

'Observe your enemies, for they first find your faults.'

'It is our mind, and that alone, that chains us or sets us free.' — Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche

'It is only when there is no goal and no rush that the human senses are fully open to receive the world.' —Alan Watts

'One day I will find the right words, and they will be simple.' ―Jack Kerouac

'Whatever advice you give, be brief.' —Horace

  14. [IMG]

Ok I must bid adieu to posting random content here.

Time to start honing down the content shared until at last it's pure James Allen.

(Definitely can get lonely walking a path of Truth, at times you may have to break away from unwholesome people who hinder your path)

But we're not quite ready for that just yet :p

Ahhhh minimalist format here we come....soon.

  15. We can think of ourselves as being good people.

But when we relapse we essentially do wrongful things that cause ourselves and others to suffer.

Living with virtue 24/7 around the clock TAKES alot of practice.

  16. Princess Snow White hehehehhe :p

LALALAALLALALAALLAALALA COUPLE MORE SONGS! LAST ONES FROM ME IN THIS THREAD YAAAAYYYYYYYYY!

I'd listen to advice from Princess Snow White I suppose. But a man named Snow White :eek:o_O:confused::oops: I just don't think I'd do it hehe..

  17. Just sharing videos here, click on the title and comment on YouTube if you wanna discuss. I'm not sharing to discuss them I'm sharing to clear up some misconceptions about Abrahamic teachings so we can get into unadulterated James Allen the way it is meant to be read, WITHOUT RELIGIOUS BIAS OR FAVORITISM. ALLEN WAS PROBABLY MOST INFLUENCED BY BUDDHIST TEACHINGS HIMSELF BUT SPOKE OF GOD AND CHRIST AS MANY IN ENGLAND AT THE TIME DID NOT UNDERSTAND THE TRUE TEACHINGS OF JESUS WHICH ALLEN UNDERSTOOD CLEARLY END OF STORY.

And this post wraps up our Christian bit.

"I'm a Christian, quite pleased with the way you communicated this." - peter h

I think we can get into pure James Allen now.

  18. Starting tomorrow only James Allen passages from me.

I certainly view religions and faiths much differently after making it this far in the thread. Basically put together what I already knew in such a way that solidifies my own spiritual life in a greater sense now. I also understand why different people seek different spiritual teachings and how and why some consider religion important or not important.

The truly religious man is deeply spiritual and loving towards all, regardless of whatever faith/creed/theology/philosophy he may follow. Or she hehee :)

  19. If you're a God Faring person whether Christian, Jewish, Catholic, Muslim, etc. here are some articles to clear anything up that was confusing above.

I'm just a foolish wanderer passing through this digital desert. A madman on a quest to his own freedom but my path lies through this NoFap or else I would not have ended up here I suppose hehehehhe.

Finding the Christ Within—The New Life—Realizing the Atonement

    The Idea of Religion

    Morality and Religion

    The Religion of Life

There was never so great a thought laboring in the breasts of men as now. It almost seems as if what was afore-time spoken fabulously and hieroglyphically, was now spoken plainly, the doctrine, namely, of the indwelling of the Creator in man. What is the scholar, what is the man for, but for hospitality to every new thought of his time? Have you leisure, power, property, friends? You shall be the asylum and patron of every new thought, every unproven opinion, every untried project which proceeds out of good-will and honest seeking. All the newspapers, all the tongues of to-day will of course defame what is noble, but you who hold not of to-day, not of the times, but of the Everlasting, are to stand for it; and the highest compliment ever received from Heaven is the sending to him its disguised and discredited angels.
