    @Jodokus you sound pretty wise about quitting habits what all are you trying to quit?

    I often wonder if I should watch my other habits so I don't lean into them more like bad eating or gaming to replace PMO. From what I've read about dopamine/rewards I wonder if you need to pretty much quit everything at once to really break free, but that seems like too much too soon and setting yourself up for failure.

    You are not alone, and that was a very wise choice on how to deal with your feelings. I use to PMO to deal with my depression, however now I write and read. So keep it up, you made a wise choice!

    If you edged I don't think you should reset your counter. Sure it's preferable to not masturbate at all for a full reset, but it's not the end of the world if you edge but not cum in my opinion.

    The real energy drain is when you bust your nuts.
    Also if you fap, just fap without porn. Look at animals, they all fap.... bears, monkeys etc. ... I don't think it's such a big deal if you edge as long as you don't waste your seed.

    They say it's still a dopamine rush... well it may be but it's certainly not the same as fapping all day, having 50 tabs opened and changing from video to video. I like to fap while imagining scenarios with girls I know in real life or girls I fucked before.

    I may be wrong, but I feel it's not a big deal if you fap without cumming.
    I'm also doing my PC exercises and breathing exercises while fapping.

    TheFapstronaut, I really don't understand why cumming should be the point. Let's take the example with 50 tabs open and the hand in the pants: for me that can mean hours of edging. Cumming then means finally able to end it. And what drains body and mind more? To cum (maybe several times) or to edge for hours (maybe the whole night)?!
    What the brain wants is not to cum but to ride on the wave of dopamine. One guy here, I think it was numpty, managed to watch porn without touching himself. He still had the same problem: the rush, the addiction.

    Anyway, I recommend No Arousal Mode. It has helped me.
    It works like this: Keep yourself busy with pro-active activities. try to not think / cut arousal thoughts. Don't look at anything sexy. Real woman: try to avoid to look at their "parts". But the actual fight is in your head. And don't try too hard (instead distract yourself).
    I wouldn't make a counter for No Arousal. 100 % is nearly impossible. It's just helping you rewiring imo.

    Now when I'm fapping (only in bed) it's from a physical impulse not some over-the-top porn fantasies that hunt me. I feel I can decide. No MO would be very tough for me though. And yes, when I do it, I fantasize. Yes, I may think of some porn-scenes. But when I'm finished it's over and done.

    But obviously I'm not through with it yet. My biggest fears are depressive states (already bugging me) and situations that come by surprise where I could fall back.

    Well porn is not good because it desensitizes you to real sex and makes you anxious and introverted. And sperm contains a lot of life force so ejaculating is not good for the body (if you ejaculate too much). Look into semen retention. There's a reason why athletes don't ejaculate a few weeks before competing.

    So doctors don't agree with me, that means nothing. Most of them are just brainwashed people working as salesmen for the pharmaceutical industry.

    I'm not saying I have all the answers, all I'm saying is that the semen retention thing makes sense to me and I'm willing to give it a try although I'm always open to the possibility that it could be BS. Most science "facts" nowadays are just bullshit opinions from some left brain scientists and 99.99% of the population swallow it without thinking for themselves.

    People just read something somewhere and then they believe it without testing it, it's why this world is backwards. People dying of cancer when there are clearly effective and natural cures, people dying of starvation when there is more than enough for everyone, when there is technology that could give you everything you needed. But the majority of the people will say this stuff doesn't exist because otherwise they would have seen it on the news or for some other retarded reason.

    The truth is that anything is possible, when you understand the nature of the reality you find yourself in and the nature of yourself. In the west people pay thousands and thousands for expensive treatment for cancer (treatment that actually does more harm than good) while in some parts in china people can make a tumor disappear in 3 minutes.

    You can interpret anything in so many ways, if you look for evidence for something you will find it, even if that thing is not true. So if you look for evidence that semen retention is bs, you will definitely find it, because there are many smart looking doctors or scientists with glasses on their noses talking in a patronizing tone who will tell you what to think and believe. The truth is that they don't know shit, they just express their ignorance when they talk about something that they have not tried it for themselves.

    Although I don't agree with you @TheFapstronaut I would say yeah, give it a try.
    I also think, it must not scientific proven to work well for you.

    Besides, some ppl here consider masturbation as rather infantile and they just want to leave it behind. Others have religious motives.
    As for myself, for the time being I just find it hard enough to quit porn and be positive, pro-active and socialize. Don't care if my semen goes in a handkerchief, into my girlfriend or stays in my body.

    Well, for me, it takes about 1 month. Everyone is different so idk. But most importantly, non-PMO is more than just attracting girls, you feel more energize like you can take on almost anything like a BOSS.

    That's exactly why I started nofap in the first place. I have dreams and I can't achieve them when I'm wasting my energy all day with porn and masturbation. I tried everything, I quit gaming, quit most of the bad habits and I still couldn't get myself motivated and energized which led me to suspect that fapping to porn everyday was the main problem that was standing between me and my dreams, even though I knew nothing about nofap yet. Everytime I busted I could feel myself getting sleepy, drained of energy, depressed, guilty, tired, I couldn't focus on anything for more than a few minutes. When I was trying to concentrate on something my mind was wondering off.

    The attraction part is like a bonus, although a really cool one.

    I'm on day 12 or 13 today and almost relapsed. I woke up at 6 am in the morning and couldn't go back to sleep. Whenever I'm sleep deprived I feel horny as hell, don't know why or if this happens to anyone else. But I remember this was how I relapsed last time too. But this time I just refused to let the urges control me.

    Although I still fapped from time to time (without porn), this is the first time in my life when I didn't cum in almost 2 weeks. The most I went before was maybe 5-6 days and that's because I was forced by circumstances.

    I also realized that most of my urges were to watch porn, not really to have sex. I would have these urges to open the cam site I used to open everyday, but I didn't even have a boner.

    I got drunk and woke up at 4am in the morning. Relapsed. Think alcohol doesn't help with commitments, it only takes a moment, then you get to the point of no return. I get horny when I'm tired as well. I noticed that.

    Also keep at it, mindfullness is a good way to identify your triggers. Experience the sensations and think about it deeply. That helps with swatting away any unhelpful thoughts or temptations.

    Hey, sign me up for the 90 day challenge. I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to get my life back on track. Usually I'm all charged up that "I'll never do that again" and then later in the day I would be sitting on my desk, edging for the past two hours. I want to stop that. I want to earn the same self-respect and ego that I had back in school.
