New Fapstronaut
I first masturbated when I was 13. I'm now almost 26 and about to be married and tired of my weakness in self-control. Over the last year or so, I've really tried to get a handle on my fapping habits but it has been extremely difficult. A year or two ago I was at a point where I would do it every morning and then every night before bed and once or maybe twice (or maybe throce) in between throughout the day. To fap was as common to me as taking a piss--anywhere and anytime. If I felt the urge, I'd splurge.

I got to a point where I knew it had to stop. I started setting up accountability partners and opening up to some close guy friends. It's been really helpful and I've grown a lot since. As I have fought to restrain from fapping, I've discovered a huge, looming problem underneath the service: anxiety. I get very anxious and nervous about a whole slew of things and for so long, masturbation has been my escape. Lately, I've been trying to deal with my anxiety in hopes that that will help me in my sexual struggle. The problem though is that anxiety feeds on anxiety. I get anxious so I masturbate so I get anxious so I masturbate so I get anxious until I just want to give up entirely. Now that I've been taking away my coping mechanism, I feel more prone to anxiety. I get anxious and don't know what to do! I'm anxious now that my problem is too big to wrestle down and control. I'm anxious that I've screwed myself and have set myself up poorly for sex within marriage. I'm nervous that I've already screwed up too much. I'm honestly scared that its too late, I'm too far gone, too messed up.

I just broke (reset) yesterday after over a month of no fapping. I screwed up with the help of my fiance which is disheartening too because we are trying to save sex til marriage. I'm anxious and nervous to confess to my accountability partner for fear of his frustration. I'm frustrated too and struggling with feelings of hopelessness.

I saw a tweet about NoFap and have been on the site a lot today. It seems like a great resource that is worth a shot. I don't want to be a slave to sex anymore! I need and want help. This looks like a great resource so I'm eager to see how it can be used in my life to find healing.

1) Love the user name.
2) You can either be frustrated and keep the cycle of self-criticism up, or you can be courageous and step out in faith that you can do this. Don't be ashamed to ask for help or confess to your accountability buddy. We're only human.
3) Props on saving yourself for marriage. Truly difficult, but something to be cherished.
Good luck, and God Bless.

Its never too late buddy. I have overwhelming anxiety also and i believe my coping machanism was to masturbate also. But the human body is an incredible thing immediately after you stop masturbating, smoking, etc. Your body starts repairing itself immediately. Its hardly our bodies thay are damaged but our minds holding us back. My problem is that pornography has desensitized me and corrupted my mind. At least thats the way i feel about it
