I've never been much of a diarist throughout my life. Journaling my thoughts always felt somewhat fake to me as I couldn't help but worry about what someone would think if they found and read it. That fear was enough to convince me that if I were to actually put pen to paper the majority of what I'd write would be sugar-coated to veil my actual thoughts.

However, after trying and failing with NoFap time and time again, I decided to give journaling a real chance. There were plenty of articles and videos I had come across encouraging journaling as a way to document yourself during your reboot attempts and I figured it might be worth trying.

I'm 28 and this is the first time I've gone over a month from PMO since I first came across porn at 12. I still have a long way to go but have been encouraged with my progress so far and definitely attribute the journaling to the success. It has been helpful to go back and read my entries from each day. It's almost acted as an accountability buddy (which is especially helpful for me as I live alone and haven't told any of my friends or family about my struggles).

Hey, our stories are quite similar, but I'm 25 but discovered P at the same age. You motivated and inspired me with your post. I agree that journaling is helping. I have mine on this forum and I always resort to it when I need to vent. It is a great outlet and I agree. Well keep going and stay strong.
