    Hey my dudes,

I've been grinding with this for a long time...

And I found out that I don't know how to watch porn.

Many of us seek porn with the intention of going through the PMO cycle. By scrolling, skipping and scrolling dozens of videos until we find the best scene.

But what if you watched porn like if it was a movie? Choose something more soft with some dialogues, no skipping, no masturbation, just watch it in a focused fashion. Videos which last as long a TV show episode.

Many of us may use PMO to escape our thoughts and feelings. Maybe because it makes our mind go blank through this powerful reptilian process.

But what if you could train your focus by watching porn?

Give it a thought my dudes ;)

Don't shun away, face your enemy in the eye.

You guys are too blue pilled, just accept the challenge.

This is a way to dissociate porn from masturbation -> orgasm (dopaminergetic association).

    Use your adjectives. You're 24.

    You know what's better?
I'll put it in a way you can understand.
    Dissociate porn from -> life.

You don't need porn to live. Otherwise it wouldn't be so exciting and you wouldn't really watch it.

You first need to dissociate porn from the cause effect which leads you to watch it, redirecting it meanwhile by making you more aroused towards something else beyond porn after watching it.

You do realize you're just backing up my point at this stage, right?

And this, somewhere in your head, is interpreted as:
    ?

You watch porn (no masturbation, no orgasm, just like if was any Youtube video) and then you do something you want to focus on, by doing such you're redirecting the arousal towards something else and rewiring your reward system.

But you have to define some clear empirical tasks after doing such.

When we watch porn we tend to skip towards the most intense parts which are associated with orgasm. By watching those porn with lots of introduction and dialogue (all the boring and slow parts), you actually redirect your arousal towards social interaction and not just the meta-orgasm loop.

Sorry to poke a hole in your pseudoscience bubble, but that's not how rewiring works.

Exposing the brain to high levels of stimulation repeatedly, even with the intent to induce long term potentiation in the limbic system comes into effect through the same mechanism as addiction itself- a downregulation in dopamine receptors in the brain.

This will manifest itself in all aspects of emotion and motivation- not just to specific stimuli.

You're applying an aggressive treatment approach for PTSD-like conditions to an addiction; this correlation cannot be made in the first place.

Do you have any idea how misleading this post is? I fear what would happen if a new and ignorant member, a kid even, read your post and tried to implement it.

Before you dish out advice to possibly hundreds of readers, at least try to verify it.

What on earth does this mean?

I'm a medical student and this is the first time I'm hearing terminology like this.

You become aroused by watching other people orgasm over and over.

So where exactly does "meta" fit in when describing this?

Did you just try to use a fancy word for "binge"?

You can do anything! Just don't masturbate and orgasm to porn, that's the major point I'm trying to defend.

It's a way to desensitize you to porn. Porn has never been that exciting to people who claim to be assexuals specially girls who can't really orgasm, am I making sense?

    Haha NO.

What you're defending here is something we called an opinion.
If this is a standard you are comfortable establishing for yourself, you have the liberty to so. Your mistake is when you try to apply science to back it up.

Yes, we call it a "binge" or "compulsive relapse".

Like I said, it won't work. This isn't trauma. This is behavior associated with the reward pathway. All you will do is temporarily raise the threshold of the addiction itself. That's the opposite of recovery.

The point is to gain focus and redirect arousal, because if you keep saying and believing porn is evil than you'll be obsessed about it, feel guilty forever and everytime, and this kinda crap will keep looping and consuming you forever, which is way worse.

Your mind will requery those memories as something bad and forbidden, and there we go another shitty guilt trip.

If you create lots of new memories of watching porn without really doing anything about it, than you'll become much more sex-positive about it, it's just what it is and you really didn't act upon it.

At this point, I'll just be repeating myself.

    So, cool.
    Go watch your porn.

Just post an update here in a month.

In a month you'll still be here, struggling to contain your unconscious compulsions and those of others as something taboo while I probably kinda forgot this place.

Leverage on your instincts, don't turn yourself against them, it's a lost battle from the start. ;)

It might shock you to read this, but I was never a porn addict in the first place. My addiction lies in MO.
That's why I can boldly make the claims that I have so far. Not only am I being scientific in my approach, I have the liberty to be objective about it as well- a distinction which doesn't apply in your case.

I'll be waiting for the update.
