    New here (obviously). I was surprised to read about social anxiety being linked to excessive "PMO", but I really shouldn't have been. I'm 34 and have been extremely socially anxious since I was a young teenager and that was the time I really started watching porn. I fairly quickly lost my confidence and became socially withdrawn, it's been all downhill since then.

    Anyway, I'm not going to make this all about my life story, so I'll just keep reading the forum and I'll participate wherever I feel I have something to add. Thanks for starting this site, it really makes sense to me.

    I've had social anxiety my entire life, long before I became addicted to PMO. (Before I started either M or P, in fact.) I can see how each one could contribute to the other, but I suspect that whatever underlying psychological or neurological factors contribute tend lead to a predisposition toward both.
