Yeah, I also hadn't heard of him until fairly recent for the same reason.

 

Good that he is promoting this message but in general Kanye West has been allover the place. He seems to be very bipolar and honestly not buying this whole "Kanye turning to god and preaching constantly" same goes with his Sunday services or whatever they are called. With him I'm just unsure what is genuine and it all seems like a marketing ploy as far as this religious aspect goes. At the same time I'm not a religious person either.
Would not be suprised if it is just a ploy to sell some shoes, merch or an album. I like couple of his songs but never been a fan of an artist.
