    Hey everyone,

So I just had a relapse after 2 weeks of fighting the good fight. Really not to much to say. Obviously dissappointed, but feel like I'm only getting better and learning more and more every time I relapse between greater time periods.

I'm think I am most worried by how level-headed I am right now. Or possibly am I simply focusing on how I feel confident that I am only making progress and that I know that I'll go even farther next time? What are your thoughts? Am I just being arrogant or am I on to something?

  2. When it comes to this, arrogance is the best attitude. Being very confident is what will help you slay the dragon. Great job!!!

Keep going. Okay, so you relapsed - as long as we learn & move on, that's the main thing. Wallowing in self-pity & "I'm a worm!" self-punishing doesn't help anyone.

You say it was a late night relapse? Have you done your 3-circle exercise yet? If not, it sounds like late night surfing etc should be in your middle circle.

    Press on.

    Strength!

    T22.

Relapse is all part of the recovery process. But I prefer to call it a slip. Not a relapse.

You slipped up and now you're back on track. I think the good thing is that you haven't gone all the way back to the start. Those two weeks you went without PMO? No one - and I mean NO ONE - can take those from you. You accomplished that and one setback doesn't erase your efforts or hard work.

I'd say just be cautious when feeling really confident. My experience is that temptation isn't far away but as Burningheart said, BE confident anyway! Be overconfident. Confidence and caution can go hand in hand. You can be brilliantly courageous and smart enough to watch for and, avoid, temptation, all at the same time.

Welcome back and thanks for sharing.

Take your mind back to the moment before the relapse.

Think. What happened that led you to the relapse?

Now that you know what caused the relapse, strategize as to how to anticipate, avoid or respond to a similar situation if and when it arises again.
