Life after NoFap

I really need experienced ones here!
I broke the identification with body and mind that i can do 1, 2, 3 Years of NoFap easyly.
(meaning not using porn and nofap)

What i figured out is that i love the testosterone Level and other benefits so i dont want to lose my semen and i value it like gold!
I will soon move in with my girlfriend and i dont know how it will unfold.

What I can observe in my ego is the thought that it’s not even worth losing semen, even for real sex (I know, extreme). That’s why I’m asking for experience.
What is a healthy long-term approach without losing the benefits?

Sex only every 4 days?
Is there scientific information on this, instead of reports from blogs or random people?

Thanks!

Hey brother,

At the end of the day, it comes down to what you prefer, however I will give you my take on this. You don’t have to follow or agree with I am going to say, it is up to you to decide.

Many studies medical and independent sample studies have been performed on semen retention and the results have always come back the same, there is no difference in retaining semen or releasing semen.

Testosterone levels stay exactly the same. In the first day there is a spike when retaining semen in regards to testosterone, however this goes back to base level after one day.

I have sex 3-4 times a week, and my testosterone level is extremely high (I get my testosterone tested every year, this also includes my bio available testosterone).

Reason why it’s extremely high comes down to simply genetics and a healthy life style (I have been training for 20 years 6 days a week).

I also use to compete in natural competitive bodybuilding federations, I know a lot when it comes to testosterone as it is the foundation to muscle growth. I can tell you with certainty that retaining semen doesn’t improve or provide more testosterone than someone who has sex everyday.

What you are experiencing is called a placebo effect. It’s like someone taking a pre workout, they believe it has done wonders and feel super energetic, then the person who provided it to them tells them it was simple powder and has no pre workout stimulants. The placebo is what made them feel more energetic, it was the belief that they had avoided pre workout without knowing it was just a powder compound.

You can decide whatever path you want to take, however I am just giving you my take on this

Hey brother, thank you for your reply!
You have an interesting take on this :)

I totally believe you how you experience it and how its even proven on paper.
But i dont have your body so i have to find out what my way is, you are right about that.

So what you say about ,,it has no impact on testosterone and is placebo" doesnt feel right to me.
There are also (pre&after with same lifestyle) bloodtests from other people about this, so it depends what you want to believe.
I never did a bloodtest but i can share that i know my ,,baseline" in how my body feels, how my emotional states are and so on because im experienced in being sensitive by my passion and profession (traumahealing, psychology, spirituality).

What i experienced was a total different, better feeling and this is why it became interesting.
I experienced the increase, also for example in 30 a few low, neutral phases, without me knowing all of the comfortable effects of testosterone beforehand.
If you wonder why, its because i was in resistence to my masculine side because of things i didnt resolve.

Yes placebo could always be the case (Book: Your are the placebo), but i dont want to work on that level here.

So now it feels like the comeback in embracing this side of me and now im doing this research with knowing actually less than you about this hormone.

I wouldnt generalize it and i believe from eating oats to not faping everything can influence the body so there is a big risk for a confirmation bias. So i try to focus on the topic of having sex and semen retention and maybe you can continue in giving me some experiences of you. :)

On the goal ,,i want a steady good testosterone level, without exercising or eating healthy":
What is your connection to nofap then?
Do you differ between sex with a partner and jerking off?
Watching porn?

love
Ilyas

Long story short, everything in my life is amazing and always has been. I use to watch porn for nothing more than the dopamine rush it provided without knowing the real side effects to porn and masturbation. Once I got PIED, I looked into and realised I had ED due to porn. I stopped watching porn immediately once I found out and stopped masturbation. This was back in a February. I have not watched porn or masturbated since and no longer have PIED.

I have always preferred sex over porn and masturbation, the 2 in my opinion can’t be compared. Sex is much better than watching someone else have sex on a screen.

Despite what people say on some of these forums, sex is a good and healthy practice. Somewhere along the lines in these forums, people have made sex sound unhealthy due to their struggles with porn and sex. The 2 are both very different.

In regards to having a healthy testosterone level without dieting or eating healthy really comes down to genetics. I have always had high testosterone levels (this includes bioavailability testosterone). Training and eating healthy adds to my already high testosterone.

The only real way to improve testosterone is eating healthy and exercising. Rather than going off how you feel, get blood tested for your testosterone. When you do this, get your base testosterone level, your SHBG and your albumin levels checked so you can calculate your bioavailable testosterone.

Get this done when you are not doing semen retention, then get it done after doing semen retention and you can compare it for yourself.

I will also add that the body always reproduces semen, and semen exits the body at some point even without sexual stimulant.

That's not entirely true. I'm not sure if there's a spike of testosterone in the first day, but the major one, a 40% increase, actually happens at day 7 to day 8 of retention. Regardless, abstaining from ejaculations, apart from raising testosterone levels temporarily, gives the body the trigger to enhance androgen receptor sensitivity (the ability to express masculine genes in the presence of any amount of testosterone).

The only real way to improve testosterone is eating healthy and exercising.
That's large of you to say when you openly admit on your first post that you have blessed genetics and have completed in bodybuilding

Blessed genetics and competing in bodybuilding doesn’t mean you can’t improve on testosterone. I don’t understand what that has to do with increasing testosterone. It doesn’t change the fact that the only way to consistently increase testosterone is through exercising and healthy eating (which is what I did, exercise and eat healthy).

the saying is 7 days is increased but then it eventually returns to baseline levels. Multiple sample studies have been performed on this exact point you are making and all of it has concluded that it all drops back to base levels and doesn’t do anything.

There is a reason no bodybuilder does semen retention, it doesn’t do anything.
