Listening To Music Increase Brain Fog

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Freeddom_Taker, Oct 15, 2020.

  1. A lot of people might see some of my contents about PAWS. Brief story, I was a heavy pmo addict in the last decade. I went on nofap after 4 years of heavy use. I was struggling to get some streaks under my belt. Since then, I've experienced heavy ACUTE WITHDRAWALS. Each time I was doing better, I have returned to the old lifestyle(pmo) which actually further my reboot. Then come the PAWS symptoms which I'm currently dealing almost 3 years.

What push me to write this post is " I can't listening music without having huge brain fog." I can play video games or surfing the web and not feeling any sign of brain fog. But, as soon as I start listening to music, some symptoms came back.

Is it because Music dropping more dopamine in the brain or is it something else???

I experience this as well and it feels like it makes the brain produce too much dopamine. I've been making more progress than ever with quitting P in the last few weeks by reducing the amount of music I listen to. I no longer have a desire to watch P and my weird sexuality is unraveling, I've already gotten over 2 really weird fetishes and it's been only a few weeks since I began noP. I know that doing noP instead of noPMO has helped a lot so I'm not saying music was my problem but there are 2 issues with music. First, I associate a lot of it with porn. For example the song despacito. If I view the video I could swear it's an amazing song but if I don't, it's crap. The video is pretty much porn really so that's problematic but the second thing with music is that you can listen to it for a long time and I really don't think anyone's brain was made to release dopamine constantly for hours.

Might be it’s just distracting. Some people don’t listen to music while doing other things because of that reason.

  4. Yeah I used to to listening to it and had no issues before. However, the longer I am in my reboot, music become some kryptonite type of sh*t.

  5. I think it's because " music almost have the same effect as watching p." When I watch it, brain fog returned almost the same.
It's not a matter of doing something or not cause I still experience the same problem.

  8. It is serious and quite strange. I've never experienced brain fog or social anxiety or any of those things that most people report here.

Are you sure that these types of symptoms are due to PMO?

If so, it would be very rare cases I think.

  9. I'm an extreme severe case.
My brain put everything on pause to reboot.

  10. I relate to your case.

Sometimes I listen to some music for hours and feel like shit after it. Video games doesn't hit me this way, I feel like listening to music give me a bad mood as much as PMOing.

  11. Last relapse while in Paws a week go start taunting me. Withdrawals such as massive head fog, bed twisting, tinnitus, social anxiety ect...all increase and become a pain in the ass.

in my experience I would go for weeks sometimes months without listening to any music, not because of brainfog but because I had no interest in it and if I forced myself to listen I would get no reward and feel unease, there was simply no point in listening
when you're extremely anhedonic music have no purpose

  14. Weird... I can listen to music 24/7 and it doesn't change my mood. I feel even better if around music. BUT (!) if I listen to same crap for months - sure - it gets annoying, fucks things up in my brain, but always trying to listen to some new shit is good.
I love music man. It's all about perspective then I guess. It's like... I can listen to a song and just imagine what I would do the next week and actually do a lots of those things. It helps my imagination grow, it helps me to relax and hypes me up.
Can't say it causes brain fog tho.

  15. Can't wait to get my normal self after 6 years of nofap including 3 years of deep PAWS. Gloomy days start to disappear bit by bit...
