I have been here for a little of over a week and i have already noticed a somewhat disturbing trend on here. When I joined here I was hoping for a site that was dedicated to ppl like me getting over porn addiction and that alone and having a better life being single or in a relationship, But now it seems that alot of ppl here have lost that goal and now strive to never even have any kind of orgasm at all. Though not saying it is bad, but that doesn;t seem to me the beginning of this site which was to help ppl to never have to use porn again, not to deny your body of a natural function that when done in the right way, by yourself with no porn or with a partner, is actually beneficial to your body, Why are guys sruggling and flatlining while removing orgasm completely? Because it;s like saying I never want to steal again, so Irefuse to use my hands ever again. Well your body will react negatively to your hands not being used and you will lose all functions of your arms and hands. The idea is to rewire your mind in positive ways to achieve a life free of porn, not to deny it of a normal bodily function.

Perhaps the name NoFap speaks for itself. Then again, while the website is not officially a "quit masturbation" forum, many of its members have such an unhealthy relationship with masturbation than it's best to abstain completely from PMO.

It is pretty obvious you misunderstood. NoFap IS about leaving porn in the rearview mirror PERMANENTLY. To do that, giving up porn, masturbation, or orgasm for a period of time to allow your brain to rewire itself, is often necessary. I've done it for 79 days. It is called rebooting. No one on here says that they are giving up orgasms forever. There may be a few people on here who have taken this nofap journey to the extreme. Most here, hope to have a fulfilling sex life. I know for me, if I just banned porn from my life but kept masturbating and having orgasms, I would not have ANY success on any of it. After 90 days (11 more days) I will reassess where I am. As I said, I am done with porn forever. The urge to look at porn has lessened from when I started. Trust me, anyone on here saying they will never have any form of orgasms for the rest of their lives, won't be able to stick with that. I admit I get a little confused when I see people at this for over 100 days but you know what, that is their decision and I'm not going to judge it. Let me tell you what I DON'T see here. I don't see anyone who has chosen that extreme goal of never orgasming again, thrust that decision on others. I see others share their experiences of their journey. Nobody here tells anyone what they HAVE to do. When I offer advice, I might make recommendations or suggestions but people here are free to choose for themselves. I truly hope this helps.

I'm sure that abstaining isn't permanent. Done in moderation, it is fine and maybe healthy. I'm sure that what this site offers is for those who binge on porn and masturbation or do it often enough it interferes with relationships and other things we have to do in life. What I get out of this site is that sometimes it's necessary to abstain from porn and masturbation for a few months in order to reboot. I also know that relapses happen to many people. This should not lead to beating oneself up. It's a learning experience for us to find out why the relapse happened and what triggered it and then learn how to make sure it doesn't happen again. Avoid the trigger or disarm it.

some guys/gals on here are trying to refrain from orgasm, others are just avoiding porn and masterbation but still orgasm however they see fit (escort, fwb, gf/bf, wife/husb, etc) because it best suits them. there is no one "real way" to recovery. i see this forum as a collective of sex addicts, young, old, etc.
