I came across this little lyric on the back of an album cover. The LP is by Sebastian Temple, but it's unclear whether he is the author or if it is from someone else. It doesn't seem to appear in any of the songs. But it really blessed me and made me stop and think, so I thought it would be nice to share it with the group. Love is a silence; lust is a roar. Love is satisfied; lust needs more. Love is a giving; lust only takes. Love is a mending of hearts that lust breaks.
"Lust" is generally associated with strong sexual desire in modern usage. Using it to mean just "strong desire" is a bit of an outdated usage. I would not describe my desire for God as "lust," as that would be too easily misunderstood by the listener/reader.
