I think it sucks and many people try to cover it with many excuse such only porn is the culprit and if your maserbating without is alright. I think its the problem here that our rational mind is giving way to our primitive self to be indulge, and its evolving in reasons to lisence you to actually relapse. We a have natural way of release (wet dreams) masterbation only leads to dopamine spike all over again and harm the receptors that would increase the threshold, and eventually lead to p and another start of a whole new addiction again. Please comment share your insights also about this sneaky problem.

With or without porn, masturbation is wasting energy physically and mentally. Compulsive behaviour is an addiction.

In my opinion. If having no partner for sexual intercourse, and if one must release, it would be best do in a way which would resemble real sex as close as possible. And even then keep limiting the times, not every day, not every time when feeling horny, not even every week. Give the body/mind challenge, it shouldn't be too easy, as normal masturbation is. Perhaps it could be taken as a prize if reaching something in life? I wouldn't take it as nofap streak prize though ;D Something else, althought of course nofap and total abstinence is causing tough times.

And without porn of course, otherwise it wouldn't resemble real sex.

But if having partner who with sexual intercourse is possible, then why to masturbate?

masturbation is never harmless in my opinion, because your almost always going to be fantasizing about something while doing it and that is almost as bad as watching porn.

I've tried to do masturbation without porn, and for me, it still drains my energy and leaves me feeling bad for a while. So I think it's not good for me and I've decided to cut it out.

Masturbation does not resemble real sex. You are fooling yourself. Also, there is no such thing as:- "one must release".

I think masturbation is fine if you are not/have never been addicted to porn. If you are a porn addict, you should probably never masturbate because your brain has already associated masturbation with pornography. It would be akin to a recovering alcoholic using an empty beer bottle as a cup. Even if you are not looking at pornography, you are reinforcing the "habit" that coincides with your addiction, which will inevitably result in relapse.

    Yeah, hehe :D
Well, what i meant as close as possible, something like "realdoll". One might be able to fool one's brain, but i suppose there's no researches yet how brain and body does react to something like "realdoll". It just is clear that masturbation and sex are different. But masturbation usually means mostly hand. But i suppose sometimes real copulation isn't very much far from the "realdoll" level though, of course if you are person with normal feelings and senses, being with real human being is always something more special, until these toys are still more advanced from now, and even then, who knows.

Its not even fine if your not addicted to porn, because its an artificial alternative for sex. Its not natural you deviate your bodily process, whats natural? Wet dreams and sex.

Pray excuse this counter opinion respectfully.

Masturbation, like all things, is fine in a moderate way. Excess is always a problem. If you feel endangered by it, of course, keep abstinence.

But fantasies is a natural sexual part of us. You don't "have" to entertain them, but there is nothing wrong with them. Even with a partner, it will happen. We all hope our entire fantasies will be toward our partner and that we have a healthy sexual relationship to nourish them. But still it is normal to have desires at different moments or, (hang on) toward different people. That's doesn't mean you should masturbate everytime, entertain theses specific fantasies and of course that you should be extraconjugal... But be aware of them.

Of course, if all your fantasies point toward porn related things, yes, abstain from it. But if not, it is not a bad idea to sometimes do it. Because like most people say, we need to rewire our brains. And it's not a bad thing to associate health short masturbation with real life fantasies. And masturbationhas some physical benefits of you don't want for hours and everyday.

Is my opinion and the same of many sexologists. There's is no mean intent in my comment.
At least I suggest to you to keep doing what you do, but maybe things are not as sharply cut and I'm suggesting a little flexibility in your whole way of attacking porn. In my experience, I feel that too much rigidity may put the focus on the negative aspects instead of working on the positive things in your life.

:D either keep up the good work!

Masturbation is natural, which is why nearly every guy on the planet ends up doing it. Humanity has been masturbating without porn for literally thousands of years. However, even if it were unnatural, it's an appeal to nature fallacy to suggest that that makes it inherently bad. Getting sick and dying of disease is completely natural, but it isn't good. Things like glasses, blood transfusions, and air conditioning are unnatural but generally good. It really doesn't matter if something is natural or unnatural. What matters is the results. Most healthy, unaddicted single men masturbate regularly and are perfectly fine. Some people can have a beer or two on the weekend and not develop alcoholism. For others, even the smell of alcohol can trigger a cascade of events that completely ruins their life. The real culprit is pornography. Without it, men would masturbate to normal sexual satiety, but with it, it is possible to masturbate and orgasm far more than you ever would be able to otherwise. It is this escalating cycle combined with the effects of the porn that result in disaster, not the isolated act of masturbation. However, as I said before, if you have or ever have had a PMO problem, you shouldn't masturbate.

You don't need to ejaculate. Your body will do it for you in the form of wet dream when the semen becomes excess.

Exactly right. If you have had / have pied then you shouldn't masturbate. But if never had porn issues then occasional non porn masturbation doesn't cause issues when in moderation

I respectfully disagree. Just because everyone does it at one time or another doesn’t make masturbation natural or an acceptable practice. I believe what is natural is our sex drive and we don’t know how to control that sex drive when we first discover that we have one. I, for one, didn’t know what masturbation was. I remember the first time I did it I didn’t really know what I was doing but I do remember feeling guilty afterwards. No one told me that what I was doing was wrong, I believe that feeling of guilt came from God, warning me that what I just did was wrong and not ok. Whether we choose to learn from that mistake (that almost everyone makes) or continue to do it and deaden our conscience is up to us.
I think there are some practices that come “naturally” but are not acceptable. I think that the path of least resistance is what comes naturally. Taking the easy way out, avoiding pain, being selfish, hateful, mean spirited, bodily appetites etc. - these are natural animalistic behaviors that take effort to overcome or control. Just my two cents. Again, I respect your views and mean no disrespect in my reply. Everyone has different ways at looking at things. Just wanted to state my opinion.
