Masturbation is boring

So I've been feeling really sexually frustrated over the last few days. But I refuse to masturbate. And though it's related to maintaining a no M routine for purposes of reformulating my relationship with my body, I also notice that masturbation never feels as good as sex with a person. It's such a let down. Since I haven't masturbated to porn in a while now, the masturbation I have been doing has been to images I can conjure in my mind. But I even feel reluctant to do this because it still feels empty. It's like I'm only interested in being intimate with another human being and if that's not possible, I'd rather not feel the release my body is aching for. I don't know if this is helpful though. I keep reading that masturbation is important and that it's a case of "don't use it, lose it". I've heard that prolonged abstinence can lead to all sorts of problems and even if this isn't true, I'd rather not find out, you know what I mean?

Anyone else just completely bored out of their skulls by the incessant wanking at their junk? And for what!? A few seconds of pleasure at the end, which is really anticlimactic, to be honest. Or are the better ways of masturbating that don't leave you feeling spent and frustrated?
