Good Morning Everybody. As my title alludes, after countless attempts and failures spanning over 2017 and early 2018, I have done it. I have gone 90 days without PMO.

Over the past 90 days, I've experienced it all; The highs of success and the way you feel almost indestructible, and the world is your oyster. To the lows of despair where you feel like a worthless piece of shit where you cant even look at yourself in the mirror, and everything in between.

One thing I can say is that regardless of the nofap superpowers, the thing that has changed the most is that I now have self-worth and somewhat of a healthy self-esteem. Porn was the greatest obstacle in my life and it destroyed my confidence and self-esteem 5 years ago when I was in high school in grade 9. You could say this was the time when I needed my confidence the most. Before porn addiction I was a smart, charismatic and funny young man who had a lot of friends and even a lot of envy.

Once I got addicted to the stuff that is when things started changing and my integrity was slowly being eaten away, in the midst of going through hormonal changes. On top of that I was finding myself experimenting with weed. A recipe for disaster lol.

The funny thing is I remember the FIRST TIME I genuinely doubted myself. It was during break at school when none of my friends then wanted to chill with me. This moment would really stick with me and it just became worse and worse and before I knew it, I was depressed.

My school marks downgraded and the drug intake increased, resulting in a downward spiral that would continue for almost 3 years. Grade 10 and 11 for me (16yo and 17yo) were honestly the worst years of my life.

2016 was a year of change. This was when my cousin passed away due to drugs. I felt like an outcast, a loner, I've never felt like I fitted in since a youngster but my depression really highlighted this. However I did meet my first mentor and best friend that year. He was 7 years older than me and he saw something in me, and it was unreal how much love and support he gave me. He gave me direction and genuinely changed my life. In the final quarter of 2016 I decided to take my schoolwork seriously. I passed well and got into university to study what I wanted to study.

The porn did not stop however, and my loneliness was enhanced at university for a while. On top of that I was smoking cigarettes, which only increased the shame I felt.
This was when I discovered nofap and where I tried to quit a number of times to no avail, in 2017

I could go on forever, and 2017 was also hectic in itself but I want to conclude. From april this year I decided to take nofap seriously because I could never stay hard no matter which girl I was having sex with. I eventually came for the first time with my current girlfriend on day 76.

I just want to say that nofap has brought back the happy person I was back then. Im still working on my flaws but I have improved tenfold. I now have self respect, and I have realized people will look at you the way you look at yourself.

Everyday was a challenge for me and I think that is the key to nofap (and life); To take it ONE DAY AT A TIME. I would genuinely search "nofap day 37" or 'nofap day 62' on google and would be inspired and motivated or even sympathetic to the stories these people shared. Every day people like you and me. I continued this habit all the way to day 90 and I stuck through it.

Along the journey, I cried by myself for the first time. This was when I realized how important self love is and how you will NEVER be at peace if you dont love yourself. I was under the mindset that "once I achieve this and this THEN I will love myself.." No. Its the other way around.

And with that I conclude my Essay. This will probably be one the last posts I make on this forum. I have a whole life to live and other things to get on point. You do too. Get this thing under control, while at the same time doing what you want to do. You only live once and you just need to keep trying. This will be the highlight of my 2018; THE YEAR I FINALLY QUIT PORN FOR GOOD.

Thank you to nofap and this forum. You have saved, changed, and made my life all at once. Its been a blast ;)

Don't mean to burst your bubble but i joined nofap last year itself (though unlike u i only had 5 years of addiction as my history and weed and smoking never even entered the picture) acheieved a 101 day streak in my 4th or 5th go. And i relapsed even then.

90 days is great and all but that part where you say this may be your last post should be something to reconsider. Word of advice, really. This isn't an insult, mind you.

90 days in the past mean nothing in the face of the future to come; the way a Wimbledon 2018 trophy can't secure another win in 2019. These numbers are- at best- mementos of our success.

You still have a long way to go buddy- your whole life in fact. Feel proud of this achievement (it is indeed!), but don't think you're out of the woods yet.

I know I have a long way to go buddy thats why I said I have a whole life to live and other things to accomplish. If you relapsed at day 101 then it means you havent got it under control yet, or youve been focusing on just on the streak. The 90 days was just a milestone for me. I knew I was good when my ED and DE went away when I could ejaculate for the first time inside a woman and that was on around day 76. That was the reason I started nofap in the first place.. to sort out my pied problems. That was one of many major breakthroughs I had on this journey

I am only on day2 of a billion tries. Over the course now spanning 8-9 years I’m 26. A Virgin still. And porn is something that it will always be a fight. I hope u the best but don’t think this will be your last. Because from everything I have learned on my road to recovery over the last nine years is there are highs and lows. And those lows are when you thought u were or I THOUGHT I WAS INVINCIBLE I MADE IT THIS LONG!!! thing is I didn’t do anything. All I did was receive help for that long. And thought I could do it longer by myself. Only realizing that. I need help every day. I need to be able to humble myself and ask for the help. I cannot do it alone.

There was a story I was related this weekend, of a boy and his father at the park. The boy say a trash can at the end of the slide. But he said don’t worry day I’ll move it. I will be fine. He goes up the slide. Slides down and stops just before the trash can. And he decided to then move it pushing against the slide and using all his force he could muster up. He didn’t even get it to budge he tried harder and different positions. But to no avail. He stopped and started to cry. Because he failed. He couldn’t do. His dad came up and said wait son he is like dad I’m sorry I failed u. I said I could do it. But I couldn’t. He said son well u could of asked me to help. I wanted to help. But you didn’t ask me. We can do this together. You can move it. But u need my help. The son said ok. So they tried again. The son grabbed one side as the father grabbed the other now they moved it without any problems.

The problem is we don’t look for the help or we think we have this and then we think we failed which leads us to further lows and doing the wrong thing when. We should have just stopped and asked for help. We can do it. U can do it. Just don’t forget us and ask for help. 90 days is great! And 100 is awesome. And I believe u can do it just remember to ask for help when the time comes. We are here. so don’t forget about us.

With all addiction - and this comes from the 12 steps - I think a lot of us miss out also - to truly overcome your addiction is when you have helped someone else to do the same. That's why the AA have sponsors and a "buddy system" - this is also the reason why NoFap recommends you stay on the forum and keep posting after you have rebooted - all your positive posts will help at least one person reading them. All your private messages among each other - they all help for you to overcome your addiction. Only when it becomes about the other person have you truly mastered your craft!

Omg I relate to this so much.
I had so much energy and confidence at one stage during early puberty.
One I got addicted to PMO it all went down hill, I got depressed easily, became weaker, no energy you name it.
Im glad I found Your brain on porn and NoFap
    Its life changing

Thank you to all of you guys who read and liked my post. The reason why I wrote it in the first place was because I wanted to help somebody out there and give them hope in their goals of no PMO.

What Ive seen in the comments is that other people who have gotten to day 90 before are giving me good advice on not to quit the community and not to get complacent and think that the journey is over. I appreciate that.

As a result I have decided that I will stay posting threads about my life after 90 days and how I am doing in life.

What I do want to say is that I have stopped using the nofap counter because for me it was about completing the 90 day challenge which I did. I meant it when I said that I am never watching porn again because I see it for what it is.

Porn is an addiction. We use it to run away from our lives and our problems. Participating in this challenge will expose you to your real demons people. Completing 90 days is great however remember that every day you do not watch porn on your road to 90 days is a success.

Thats what its all about at the end of the day.. Success is taken one step at a time because trust me when I say reaching 90 days will not give you all the happiness you seek or solve all your problems. Celebrate every day and before you know its 90 days and you've made it. ;)

Self-love man.. The reason why I became addicted to porn was because of my insecurities and feelings of inadequacy. Im still working on them but at least I dont have an addiction that controls my life anymore
