Chillstep isn't really good for running. It's more focused on feelings and emotions. Chillstep is like gentle dubstep. It seems to me that You don't know exactly what it chillstep. Check this out:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tR4aqOyCDHM&index=33&list=PL3E7ecQSbyiXKC-Z7TeKp6n4a_JexP2ng

    If song has standard drums like: kick on 1 and 3; snare 2 and 4; It's not chillstep. Why? Chillstep is like a baby of Dubstep with chillout. I think when @Dubcon said chillstep he meant chillout :p. Zhu is more like deep house producer; Kygo - tropical house, downtempo;

Running is always easier with music :). I prefer listening to house while I'm running. It's always around 128 bpm so it isn't slow and it's enough fast.

Yeah I just recently really got into this kind of music last year so I don't know too much about it. All I know is that most of the artist on there where on a chillstep mix so I just assumed lol. It's always nice to learn more about certain kinds of music. Thanks openminded

I said I wouldn't post here again, but this song is like another example of the epitome of 'music prevention', just linked it to my sig it was so relevant for me:

    I'll make a difference

I know that's a really intense song above and won't appeal to everyone, so here's something much softer with beautiful piano:

When it comes to anger without sex, I go for Tyr. Folk metal is really great workout music, for me, and their By the Light of the Northern Star album pushes me from working out to fighting my limits. Youtube 'By the Sword In My Hand'.

For relaxation and trance, I tend toward psybient, and for me Shpongle (I know, totally ridiculous name) is too weird to be risky, and the album 'Nothing Lasts... But Nothing is Lost', is an hour of fluid tripping.

If you find yourself in a place where you can't calm down, and you need something to depress your nervous system (not amazingly healthy but very effective to eliminating urges in an emergency), Pedro the Lion has an album called 'Control' that will turn the most racing heart into a trudging thud. DO NOT LISTEN WHILE DEPRESSED.

When all else fails, I listen to Tool, especially the Lateralus album. It's always been very inspirational to me in a philosophical way, and I find myself becoming so lyrically invested that I can't even think of anything else.

Personally, I can't do any kind of psy music anymore haha. The whole scene when you go to the live shows is drugged out hippies/freaks/wooks/hipsters/bohemians or just your typical psyhead. I heard a Grateful Dead fan say once, "It's not about the drugs man, it's about the music." Rubbish. Then why can you find more drugs at one of those concerts than you can in your average town in a given night, lmao? Btw Simon Posford & Raja Ram (Shpongle) do more drugs alone than your typical rural high school senior class does in any given week. Not that that should influence your decision on whether or not the music is good, but bro I've known psychonauts who've explained to me that Simon Posford and Raja Ram are from another dimension lol, I just don't dabble with psychedelic music anymore let alone psychedelic substances.

To each their own I suppose, live and let live. I just don't like my music tainted with drug culture anymore, especially when the artists' main inspiration for creating their music comes from hallucinogenic substances.

Shpongle is basically a tripped out twisted intoxicated rip off of world & ethnic artists who were putting out beautiful ambient music that took the listener on a journey years before these psyclowns hit the scene. Obviously I have strong feelings about this, and do not like Shpongle lol. It's because my past in high school. I've seen what's at the heart of Shpongle so to speak. Sorry for all that.

Týr is awesome. I use to be big on Viking & Folk metal when I played WoW.

I have flashbacks of raiding listening to that lol.

Honestly, I've never been to a psy concert, and while I've dabbled in substances, I don't spend my time listening to music. I spend it interacting with the world, with people, exploring. I just love the energetic qualities of that album, the way it flows, the mental imagery, the stories my mind can come up with. Totally sober. I dunno, when I go to a concert, I want to be aware of it.

Oh, I almost forgot, Tim Minchin. Guy's a cerebral pianist/singer/comedian. Watch the videos, and you'll never get it up again (kidding. mostly) Also, he is not a fan of religion. Fair warning.

I don't mean to bash Shpongle or psychedelics. It's just so twisted and warped, lol Simon Posford's record label is called Twisted. His solo is act is called Hallucinogen. One of his earlier albums is titled The Lone Deranger.

So I mean that stuff doesn't appeal to me anymore. I've had alot of valuable experiences and revelations from entheogens. But these artists cross a line into delusion. Like I said, live and let live. Simon & Raja Ram are incredibly talented musicians don't get me wrong. But their intentions are anything from pure. I will say no more about this.

    And thanks for the link.

So I just started getting into Deep House. It is melodic and smooth. I like chillstep and indie electronica better but it is a nice change.

I'm not religious. If I'm Christian I'm totally against the idea of "eternal torment" as preached by most preachers.

I am totally against the idea of any real God who would hurt anyone "forever and ever" non-stop even if the person wanted to repent at any time.

I digress. For me these songs are great for preventing PMO and staying up late.

    Trading Yesterday - Shattered
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_LOOKssMpA

Rich Moore - Do not be Afraid, Stand Still
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kS5oZSywFE8

I bought the second album. It really rides. Most Christian singing is either feminine or sounds like lies. I think Rich Moore is one of the few who really believes what he's saying it.
