  5. That is one of the Most Important things to Learn from Life.A Person can't love others if he can't love himself.

I have to agree, IGY. The self is the thing you know best. You will never know someone else as well as you know yourself. You know your weaknesses and your strengths, your vices and your virtues, your righteousness and your sin. You see to the heart of you. If you can't love yourself, and you don't see yourself as worthy of love, then you'll never be able to accept love from others, and because of this, you'll never share in love.

I've seen this in a lot of people, they turn self-loathing into martyrdom, sacrificing to make others happy, praising the traits in others that they don't have in themselves, but if you never accept love, and only give, you drain yourself and leave only your self-loathing to keep you warm. It poisons your love, turns it into a weapon to be used against others, to try and force them to feel better about themselves because of how lousy you feel about yourself, and when this doesn't work, it makes you feel even worse.

Love is meant to be shared between people, creating new and wonderful experiences. If you don't love yourself, and you don't accept love, you leave the other person feeling like they've done to some disservice, which breeds confusion and self-loathing in them, resentment for you, mistrust and the degradation of communication.

The person that doesn't love the self fails to see the whole of another person, fails to see those flaws and vices and sins as well as the rest of the identity, and in only seeing a piece of the person, fails to truly love them, because love that only stands tall in fair weather is hollow. True love comes in cooperation, unconditionally, seeing the truth of a thing and still loving it. Understanding it. Accepting it as it is. You know the truth of you, best of all. If you can't love that truth, what can you truly love?

Evidently, there is some confusion on your part Personal Freedom. justcause47 said: "A Person can't love others if he can't love himself." - I disagreed. Personally, I do not believe that showing love to others while not loving oneself is draining. I believe in the wisdom of Jesus' words: "there is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving". :)

I can follow your reasoning to some extent, but you make a number of assumptions. For example, you say that the self is the thing you know best, that you see to the heart of you. Well, some people do not have a stable sense of self and have no idea whatever of who they are at their core. However, it does not mean they are incapable of loving someone else. In fact, their understanding of someone else will likely be more complete than their understanding of themselves.

  9. Jesus Said the Right Thing. It has a Much Much Deeper Meaning. A Person Who starts to Help Others, will Surely Become A Better Person one day. When You Give,You Feel Good and It Creates the love of the self.Loving Self also Means to Like the Work You are doing for Others.Mahatma Gandhi Served all the Indians only After Knowing his Core, only After knowing Where the True Happiness Lies. This Sentence has a Deep Spiritual Meaning.
-When You Find Your Ideal Self,You Realize that Loving and Helping Others is the Moto of your Life. You Start to Love Your Surroundings, the People around You,and the Work You do.There is a Much Better Explanation in Self Help Books.Read:"THE MONK WHO SOLD HIS FERRARI" by Robin Sharma.
And Here's What Swami Vivekananda Said::
"You Have to Grow from Inside Out.No One can Teach You.No One can make You Spiritual. There is no Other Teacher but Your Own Soul."

I suppose it comes down to experience. I did understand, I just worded my opening poorly. In my experience, people that are uncomfortable with themselves, that either don't explore their own identity, or dislike their own identity, tend to view others in an archetypal fashion, whereby the people they meet are labeled and given general traits, rather than seen as a whole, complete individual with a comprehensive history. They look at a person and see what they want to see, and the love they give is to the illusion.

I don't think that self-love exists in the absence of Giving. I fully support Giving unconditionally, fully aware of what you're doing. I believe that seeing a person not as you wish to see them, or as a flawed individual, but as a person, whole and complete, makes your love deeper and more meaningful. I also believe that a person that Gives, and is unable to Receive, creates an imbalance, which causes conflict and suffering.

But, again, this is only what I've observed. I'm certainly no encyclopedia. Barely even a pamphlet, most days. I see myself as I am, as a result of years of introspection and insight, and I believe that makes me more able to share in love with others, to accept and give freely.

Thank you for your reply justcause47. However, it is not my experience that when you give, you feel good and it creates the love of the self.

My personal experience in this matter is the antithesis of what you have observed. I do not label the people I meet. Rather, I see a person as a whole, complete individual with a comprehensive history and a unique story to tell. :)

Well IGY, but if you always GIVE, but never take, then you burn out.
And nobody has a benefit from this.

It is my experience that especially "kind" persons really NEED to learn to "take".

Kind persons are often afraid of taking money, because it has the smell of greed and evil.
But in fact, you need money if you want to do good things in the world.

My personal experience is that a FLOWING life style is the best.
In the ideal case, you are always moving, always working, but in a contant relaxed way. Always steady and balanced.

And in this mode, you are taking money and spending it ...

It depends on you what you make with money.
You can create weapons with money, but you can also build houses and schools and hospitals.
