This fog of the mind is weather you can predict without fail if you choose not to prevent it. You lose sight of others, yourself, and connections that were once there but went missing.

It makes me happy to share the experiences of working in education. Stressors in the form of teachers, staff, or students can be unyielding, but my motto is to give them hell back, not by fighting fire with fire, but by fighting fire with water. I know the work I do is good work because I care and I care about the students. I am not interested in self-interest or the paycheck the district holds with high regard.

Other than the folding mattress, I find organizing and rearranging a room keeps the mind creative and proactive. Having a desk by the window could cause daydreaming, but you could argue daydreaming might be necessary or even productive once in a while. Changing the set-up and appearance of the environment makes thoughts and actions flexible but not to the point of becoming unruly. Having tokens near, reminders of your purpose, too in that place keeps your head on your shoulders. It's better than having it roll away.

I've been sharing this tip as I can. I'm starting to feel it is fair to call it more than a "tip" because it seems responsible for a large portion of success.
It's much more powerful than most people seem to acknowledge.
It's important to success in anything.
And it's up there connected to getting the sense of the "winning feeling" and building upon it.

My longest streak was successful in large part due to this.
And starting over again, I'm moving forward with it in mind.

Awesome share. Thanks for looking out for the other fapstronauts.

This was a very helpful read.

I can validate it with both positive and negative stories.

Early this year a relationship I was in turned serious enough we started to move into her place. After a lot of struggle keeping 7-10 streaks I bang bang bang hit 3 30ish day streaks. I was walking my dog 3 times a day and losing weight. Lots of good things were happening as I just simply began making a new life in the new environment.

Shit happens. We broke things off. I am back full time in my townhouse. Binges are common. I'm lucky to hit a 3 day streak (on day 0 as I type).

    I'm doing 2 things:

    1. Trying to change my environment as much as possible in the short term. Planning a move before next May to completely change.
    2. Focusing on positive habit creation. In that regard -- a little off topic from this but some cross over -- reading James Clear's Atomic Habits. Applying his approach I'm back to losing weight if not tackling the porn issue quiet yet.
