Recently I have discussed my undertaking with some friends who were either supportive or couldn't understand my point. These were their main arguments:

    - Everybody masturbates (I've read somewhere that 96% of the male population of the UK does it)
    - Masturbation is healthy
    - There's nothing wrong with porn, it's normal
    - Not masturbating is unhealthy it might even cause prostate cancer.
    - It feels good, why shouldn't I do something that feels good.

How could any of these arguments convince me?

    I don't masturbate/watch porn because I'm free.

    but what is freedom?

In my opinion true freedom is that I can do certain things but I don't do them. Why would I be in any way obliged to do something what everybody does? There are things that are healthy or neutral and we don't do them. Some people consider me an idiot because I don't fap, well I don't draw paintings or climb rocks either am I an idiot then? I am entitled to choose what I do,

I do not want to force anybody to follow me, I don't say that it's the "answer" or the "right way" Probably it doesn't seem normal to most of the people, but it worked for me and that's enough. (it's basically the philosophy of Buddhism and I strongly agree with it)

I did not give up fapping just to stand out (easiest way to standing out is to try not to be standing out) I believe that in a perfect world we won't need the media, the science or doctors, the majority of people or politics tell us what to do. People shouldn't need rules, conventions, morals, norms to exist. We make the choices, and we choose NOT to do something regardless of what the current medical or psychological trend says.

You should not need to let people and their ideas take away your freedom.

Anyway sorry for the hazy rambling, I just wanted to get it out of my system. Feel free to comment and disagree with me :)

this Bible verse came into mind about the value of freedom:

"I tell you the truth, when you were young, you were able to do as you liked; you dressed yourself and went wherever you wanted to go. But when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and others will dress you and take you where you don't want to go." John 21:18
