My Experience Right Now

I'm really having a difficult time right now.
I'm not sure which one I'm addicted to - pornography or masturbation, but I think the later.

The urge to masturbate is what normally lead me to watching pornography or even thinking it. For this reason I have been try to quit masturbation for some time now.

For some days now (about 7 days now) I have abstained from masturbation and anything I think may trigger it (deliberately resisting) but right now, the urge is getting stronger than I think I can handle.

It seems the urge is getting stronger with every resist.

I have been here before and ...you can guess what the end has always been.

Whenever this urge come, I deliberately shift my attention or focus to something else, that will help for sometime, but then it will come back knocking and knocking harder than before.

I'm not sure what to do now, can anybody offer some advice, solution, help, suggestion... or anything that might help. Is there really a solution for this? A permanent fix?

I don't think there is a permanent fix, its a ongoing fix. By ongoing I mean that every other day you have to fix it and its an evolving process. You have made it to 7 days that's good. Now initially in your reboot process you will feel your sex urges to be high or even crazy. This is because you are abstaining yourself from that negative pleasure derived from porn and masturbation simultaneously. Your brain is in a certain state because constant exposure to porn along with masturbating habits, now you are fighting to conquer it so your brain will play tricky and sometimes charge you with full force to relapse. At the end of the day its our brain so we have to train or rewire it. This process of rewiring is an ongoing process but yes you will see benefits or changes whatever you say if you continue your NoFap journey. We all are different in our own ways so our brain will react differently. Some may react and adapt quickly while some may take time. On the resist and urges relationship it will get higher at initial stages normally some may even get it a later stage also, there is no perfect stage or point that it can be identified perfectly. But initially it remains high, keep patience and give time, it will heal. Whenever possible occupy yourself into activities, pick up hobbies if you haven't, when the urges come don't give unnecessary attention or I mean weightage, try to identify your urges or situations that leads to those urges and avoid them, educate yourself on the harm of PMO then when urges are strong try to think of those and at the same time try to remind yourself that why you are doing this and what lies ahead of this journey?, get out to open and socialize, get on to some exercise plan, for starters you can go for walking, swimming, jogging, etc and then when you are feeling comfortable with any regime increase it slowly, try meditation, etc. Simply ask yourself what you want and then go for it. Another fix you can try or make this a routine to be active on this forum by helping others from what you have learnt, look upon others and try to devise your own ways out, etc. Check out these two posts by @D . If you are addicted to porn.. You are surely addicted to masturbation but reverse is not true.
 
Survived another day of intense urge. Thank God for that.
It is a new day and the intense urge is back, Lord help me.
 
I felt like it is time to update this topic again.
It is now 10 days since I made initial post and since then, I'm happy to report that I have remained clean. Thanks to those that offered someone words of encouragement and insight and Thank God for the strength.
Your contributions made me realise how strong what I'm dealing with is and that knowledge has been helpful in helping me stay strong. Thank God you made those contributions.

The journey continues...
